oh wait, i have veterans day off...

hmmm

also a guava saison? interesting.

I was thinking of a TPA, Tampa Pale Ale.  Fruity notes with a bitter finish, which describes the city to a fucking T.

This reminds me:  I've been trying to get ahold of for private consumption Taj Mahal for YEARS.  I can only get it in the fucking restaurants.  I have no idea how to get my hands on it.  I think I have to go to L.A., actually, most likely.  All the damned Indian stores here seem to be run by Muslims.

Orlando Pale Ale??

is it from Orlando Brewery?

Kai

I think I am going to have to go out and share a coffee oatmeal imperial stout with someone tonight. Because I want one, but due to the meds I can't drink that much.

No, I just made it up. Thinking about what it would taste like. :vom:

Quote from: Kai on November 05, 2009, 10:26:06 PMI'm actually not a fan of Guinness. Dry stouts are meh.
I think so too. I prefer a Russian Imperial stout, a beer so dark and thick that the whole room darkens a bit as you pour it into the glass.

Natty Greene, DuckRabbit, Left Hand, and North Coast each make a good version of it.

Quote from: Triple Zero on November 05, 2009, 11:42:30 PMin other news, my gf and I discovered the BEST most awesome smooth Kriek beer ever! "Timmermans Kriek". Kriek beer is a slightly sour beer, made with fruit (often cherries or other red fruits). It's a littlebit of a girl's drink, but it's just pretty damn good. Should be, too, for €1,60 the bottle (~10oz) .. this one has a very slight hint of honey and is just delicious. NWC if you read this thread, you can probably get it in Belgium (it's probably Belgian in origin anyway). I tasted quite a bunch of different Krieks in my life and this one really is the top. Though, as always, it probably helped it was near the end of a really great evening out.
That sounds cheap to me.  One of those little bottles of Belgian kriek or framboise costs about $7 here.

So... am I the only Sam Adams person ITT?
I like their black lager and their imperial stout a lot.  About the only time I drink a Boston lager is when I'm in a bar or restaurant and it's the only non-budmillercoors they've got.  It's a good example of the style, but it's not a style I'm crazy about.
I will answer ANY prayer for $39.95.*

*Unfortunately, I cannot give refunds in the event that the answer is no.

Orlando has a brewery. In the warehouse district. You know, where they used to dump all the rocket fuel. It's all "organic".
We did a tour one saturday cause we were bored. It was actually quite fun.
Some of their beer is really quite tasty, like the red ale and the IPA. We tried their "Anesecoria" which is their barley wine. It was thick and syrupy.
Some of their beer like the old pelican is absolute AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASS CRAAAAP!!
I mean spit it out immediately like the girl in our smiley.

Actually, their Gnaw Bone Pale Ale is better. I just love that logo.

Miller High Life or GTFO.

Can't believe I had to go three pages into this thread before somebody mentioned beer I can agree with.

High Life is the only way to go in the cost/taste/drunkenness triangulation.

When I can afford it, I like Hoegaarden a lot, also Modelo, Heineken and Newcastle.

If they ever invented a non-alcohol version of beer that tasted like beer, they'd have a customer for life.

You should try Malta, it's like beer but sweet rather than alcoholic, sort of halfway between beer and coca-cola.   Recommend the Hatuey brand.

Sorry I shoulda mentioned, that's if you buy it in the supermarket or liquor store, not in a bar. Usually a kriek or other good special beer is €1,10 or €1,20 or something.

Although $7 is still €4,70 and I still wouldn't pay that unless I got a pint of the stuff :-)

... also, holy shit the dollar is back to 67 eurocents??? since when is that? maybe I should come and visit your country a bit sooner than next summer :-)

.. and order shit in the USA from ebay and amazon and all that. sponsor your economy a littlebit ;-)
