Holy crumpet-chomping Christ on a trampoline, how in the name of all that is holy does the hardcover Synaptyx edition get to be so fucking expensive/valuable?

God damn, I just got really nervous about it being in the hands of my friend.

Mesozoic Mister Nigel

When I looked it up on Alibris to see what I could find I also discovered that my first edition softcover of John Dies At The End, that I was so excited to find at Borders this summer, is now worth over $200. WTF.

Now I have to buy a copy to read, because it's only worth that much if it's new/unread.

Triple Zero

Hangshai, you can ask Synaptyx anything about an ETA for the next print at POEE.co.uk which is like his home base messageboard UK faction of disco-spags.

One thing I wonder about, if you pay $250 for the hardcover, is that it's really worth no more than $30 or so, and it just makes me wonder where the other $220 goes cause if someone is going to make money over Discordian paraphernalia, I'd rather have it be a Discordian (like when Syn made the hardcover PD edition, he made money over it and deserves every pennie of it, IMO).

Another thing, if you have money to burn, consider donating some to the server costs of this forum, the thread for it is in the Meta-Forum or Announcement subforum.

For $250 you might want to look into getting a copy custom bound.  There's nothing extraordinarily special about the edition other than bookshelf appeal, and if that's what you're looking for getting something leather bound and personalized would have much the same.

EoC doesn't make creepy.

EoC makes creepy worse.

I have a hardcover copy that I picked up from who knows where.  I didn't realize people wanted it so badly.  Pay for the shipping and it is yours.

Hey you can have my Steve Jackson Games version for $250.

It's a rare collector's item, or something.

I have one of those somewhere, unless I gave it away already.
You're a special case, Babylon.  You are offensive even when you don't post.

Wow, apparently the hardcover version is now a rare collector's item. http://www.amazon.com/Principia-Discordia-Magnum-Malaclypse-Younger/dp/1846856043/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1261789072&sr=8-4

My advice: buy a softcover and wait for the hardcover to be re-issued.

I have a copy of the yellow one, unread, at my house. Normally I'd sell it for $500.00, but for you, only $399.99!! WHAT A BARGAIN!!! I'll even sign it for some reason.
