News:

Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate the fact that you're at least putting effort into sincerely arguing your points. It's an argument I've enjoyed having. It's just that your points are wrong and your reasons for thinking they're right are stupid.

Shouldn't your name be MMX now?

MMIX

Yeah, technically it should, but I thought I would just ride with MMIX to remind me that I lurked here for over four years before I bit the bullet and joined up. So that kinda of makes 2009 special to me so I think I'll stick with it. Plus I pronounce it Emmix which I think sounds better than Mux . . .

I would argue that you could still pronounce it Emmix.

I always thought of it as Muh-Mix myself.

I just don't think I would feel right about pronouncing it the same way when it is spelled differently. I suffer from homonymophobia . . .

You mean like Mum Icks? Nah, I don't feel particularly comfortable with that. It reminds me that when my kids were little I had this bee in my bonnet about not being called Mum. I seem to recall that I insisted that "I am not a structural relationship, I am an individual" . . .

long story short - most of my kids hate me  . . . but at least they hate me as an individual

You're female? No shit.

How old are your kids?

Not when you're a parent.  Then you have to be God and all his prophets, or at least a reasonable facsimile thereof.  Sure, it's impossible, but so is everything else about raising kids.

Hang on, I always looked at the name and though, oh, megaman 9.  What does it mean?

LMNO

Think Roman Numerals.

Jasper

Oh right, I forgot what M stood for.
