News:

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.

See, autorun on USB was a *great* idea.  :lulz:

to be fair $149 doesn't scream "cheap" at me, but if you can spare the $$$$ it saves you from googling "jack knife usb" and making your own for free.

i mean, super handy, and maybe it's tougher to make a good one that does what this promises, but you don't need any hardware, just a spare USB stick, so all in all, you're still paying $149 for a piece of software.

you're  paying  for  a piece  of software

Does this use windows autorun, or does it use the BIOS boot-from-usb mechanism?

Triple Zero

From what I read I get the idea it uses autorun.

Could you make a USB stick that can BIOS-boot-from as well as abuse autorun?

I never made a bootable USB stick yet.

Yes. It uses kind of the same mechanism you might use for booting from CD using a floppy on a machine that doesn't support booting from CD, except that the iso image is a partition on the thumbdrive and the floppy is likewise a partition on the thumbdrive. It shouldn't be too hard to do -- the first partition should have the autorun crap as well as the booting crap, and the second partition contains an iso image to boot.

I think you should be able to, though you may need to just have to seperate programs on the one USB.

Also, while bootable USBs are nice, it does require that the BIOS be set up to run the whatever is in the USB port before the CD drive or the Hard Drive, which almost no PCs are setup to do.

As long as the bios isn't locked you can tell it which device to use first.

True, plus most people won't lock their BIOS

PROTIP: Buying anything from SkyMall is a massive ripoff. You can get this for free + the cost of a USB drive with enough storage to host what you want to do (Less than $10 USD).
