I need some computer help.

Sooooo, I have a visitor, Antivirus soft. I was able to find a tutorial on how to remove this bitch, but in order to do so, I need to reboot my computer into safe mode. The instructions provided at the site I was at do not work. This is pissing me off, and is probably my own fault. Any help would be appreciated.

Turn your computer off wrong, and when it starts up, there should be a black screen that gives you three options or so, safe mode being one of them. This is if you have a Windows system.

Thanks. I actually got it into safemode, but can't get it to download the thing I need to remove it. I'm trying to save it to a flash drive on my folks' desk top, but for some reason I can't get it to download.... This is frustrating...

I hate when that happens. Did you try right clicking on the download button/link and selecting "Save target as"?

safe mode is usually activated by hitting F8 a couple of times during the first bit of booting. then you get a menu. but I see you already figured that out.

Are you sure the instructions you followed are recent? (Check the dates on the article)
