Have to say I'm glad I wasn't at Saturday's game.... 

Cards lost their first game but damn in the 20th inning the stands were empty.

We joked saying we should go down and see if they would let us in just to watch the end and have butts in the seat s for the cameras

I only watched the last 3 innings of that game but it was still goddamn ridiculous. How is it even possible for BOTH teams to go scoreless for 18 innings? That is two whole games!!! The box score looks like a fucking mess since all but 3 players got in the game. 19 fucking pitchers, including 2 position players for the Cards.

Also the tv announcers mentioned that there were two high school teams that waited the seven hours for the game to get over so that they could play their game.

Oh it was awful.  I can't even tell you how many times both teams had the bases loaded.  They walked Pujols, or tried to, every time he came up to bat.  I have to admit though, it was a damn good game, I'm glad we saw it from home rather than live and being eaten alive by mosquitos because who would expect it to go THAT long?

I don't think the high school teams were able to play their games after all.  There was something on the news but I didn't hear all of it.

Chris Coghlan is the latest player to become seriously injured while celebrating.

The Florida Marlins left fielder is headed for the disabled list with a torn meniscus in his left knee and could need surgery.

The reigning NL Rookie of the Year's injury was revealed in an MRI Monday. He was hurt while delivering a pie in the face to teammate Wes Helms following the pinch-hitter's bases-loaded single in the 11th inning of a 5-4 win over Atlanta on Sunday. There will be no more such celebratory antics by Florida, manager Edwin Rodriguez said.

"It's very humbling when the game is taken away and you don't realize it because you play every day," Coghlan said. "If you ever get injured you want to do it while you're out there competing, not when you're celebrating. Emotions get the best of you, you're excited. There's nothing wrong with that but be a little smarter when you're celebrating a win."
