Testimonial - Well it seems that most of you "discordians" are little more than dupes of the Cathedral/NWO memetic apparatus after all -- "freethinkers" in the sense that you are willing to think slightly outside the designated boxes of correct thought, but not free in the sense that you reject the existence of the boxes and seek their destruction.

On Saturday I learned that I have anscetors named Edgar, Henry, Osian, Versia, and Jersey. Obviously none of those will be used (although I'm not completley opposed to Henry).
You cannot fathom the immensity of the fuck i do not give.

I knew a guy named Henry.  I think he was convicted with assault one time.

Incidentally, how is Osian pronounced?

No idea. Everyone always called him Ode.  :?

The punner in me naturally likes Jersey.

"Hey everybody, wanna see my New Jersey?"

Okay, well, I thin, it is funny.

My older son is named Henry.
i like that it is a traditional name that doesn't get any stigma of being 'off-beat', 'made up', etc., but it is also not very common these days.
there definitely aren't any other Henrys in his class...
my second son, Theron, definitely gets more mispronunciations, requests to repeat his name, and 'huh...' responses than Henry does.  but it's also a family name, so fuckem.

It's an anglicized version of the Gaelic name Oisin, which is pronounced "USH-een." There is also an accent mark over the second i.

the accent is on the first syllable, but the mark is on the second?

The accent mark affects the pronunciation of the vowel, not the stress (which is almost always on the first syllable).
If there were no accent mark there, it would be "USH-in" as opposed to "USH-een."
My name is Kevin (KEH-vin), which is also Caoimhin in Irish. There's an accent mark over the second i there too (Irish vowel combinations are weird, so we'll avoid that for now). But Caoimhin comes out kinda like KWEE-veen.

Yeah, you can imagine the jokes my Irish cousins made at my expense....
