I'm uneasy... apprehensive... scared, a bit

So, I had a dream last night that I was working for a super secret organization, and I was given an encrypted file by a guy named Stiletto to hack into.

In the dream, I start thinking about how to decrypt it for a bit, and then I suddenly think "Houdini..." and try opening the file without a password. BING! It works. The "encrypted" was a ruse. Once a decryption tool was used on it, the file would have locked up, but because I tried opening it without any password or anything, it works.

This morning, on another of the message boards I visit, someone posts a link to the WikiLeaks deal. WikiLeaks, it appears, has uploaded what they call "an insurance" file onto the interwebs and have torrented the shit out of it. The guy who posted it? His handle is "SkiNNy_knife."

I was seriously considering giving it a try. I mean aes256 is not the type of encryption that'll be ripped into with brute force or an Atari portfolio... but seriously? The NSA has to have something that'll tear into it, no problem. It's gotta be either a ruse... or something they know the goons wouldn't even try.

I'm thinking about downloading it but I'm <subject line>

Yeah, I've read about the Wikileaks insurance file as well.  On the one hand, I really want to see what's in it, but on the other, I'm not sure I want to remove a potentially useful weapon from the organization.  Assange himself was a hacker though, back in the day, so I'm sure whatever the password may be, it's going to be difficult to guess.

I mean, don't get me wrong, he may be (though I lean towards "is not" for now).  But not being a Truther doesn't automatically make one a CIA employee now, does it?
