That Bush stole the 2004 election, to a lesser extent, that bush stole the 2004 election.

I agree with Cram... He did go to Yale and Harvard... yet people thought he was a dumb monkey. I think his handlers wanted to make sure he kept that Folksy 'have a beer with me' appeal.

We have a saying around here...

Education makes you less ignorant - not less stupid.

Exactly.

And BTW: what's so TERRIFIC about a leader who pretends to be dumb so his constituents feel smarter than him?

Jesus we ARE in the toilet, aren't we?  :crankey:

Actually, I think it was a leader pretending to on an even level with his constituents ... its the same crap Sarah Palin is playing at.

I AM A PERSON OF TEH PEOPLE!

It's also Obsfucating Stupidity for use against political opponents and people who think they can manipulate you into serving their agenda.  Since any modern government is a coalition of interests (Bush II was, for example, Big Oil meets Military-Industrial Complex meets mild Christian Fundamentalism meets Neoconservative Crusaders meets Social Reactionaries) there are always going to be people trying to control the man at the top, and by acting like an idiot who can't string a sentence together, you get them to expose themselves and make their ploys obvious.

Bush is Stupid gets my vote as well.  Berlusconi pulls very much the same kind of trick and I'm amazed how many otherwise rational and intelligent people fall for it.

I'd say more than 20% believed this one.
You're a special case, Babylon.  You are offensive even when you don't post.

Bush and Obama are and were the subjects of many false accusations, and many more true accusations that were never made, at least not in a legal or media sense.

They are both basically whores, and the fact that people can't see past their partisan bullshit to realize that indicates that this country deserves the government it has.

That Bush was just an extension of Cheney.
I dont doubt that Cheney had a big say in many things or that Bush greatly trusted him, but you cant really suggest that Cheney was behind EVERYTHING and that Bush never once thought for himself.

I think Rove had a bigger influence on Bush than Cheney, but Cheney certainly was a behind-the-scenes guy, picking out point men in the WH that would help push policies he was on about since before Georgie's time.

Cain

Cheney whined quite openly in his memoirs that Bush wasn't compliant enough and kept blocking his best and most brilliant ideas.

In which case, Bush should probably be considered a hero for curbing the kind of excesses Darth Cheney thinks were a good idea.

Also, I believe the percentage of Americans who are Birthers is now equal, if not higher, than the percentage of Americans who are Truthers.  Overlap between the two is unknown.  However, it should be remembered one is a crazy fringe theory rightly derided by all rational people and the media, and the other is the Birther movement.

Requia ☣

It seems like the big difference between the left and right fringes is that the left lunatics get ignored or tasered, the right lunatics get airtime on national television.

Cain

Generally true, though it should be noted that while Truthers started off being mostly left wing, they have since been thoroughly infiltrated by far right groups such as Neo-Nazis and LaRouchites (but I repeat myself).

Left wingers should steal Birtherism in revenge.
