It's Karmic balance.

You can't have good shit happening without it being balanced out by bad shit.

Or some shit like that.

Fuck that, Karma don't work like that.

So the Hindus weren't talking about internet trolls?

Sure they were. But Karma doesn't "balance itself" or any shit like that. Karma is simply the propensity for Reality to transmit and/or recreate energy patterns (physical or mental/emotional 'Signal') and propagate these signals further out into the environment (or around and around in an environment). And you don't have to physically die to undergo "rebirth".

Internet Trolls are stuck in the "world[reality-tunnel] of the Asura [jealous gods/demons]" (and possibly the Preta, or "Hungry Ghosts").

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asura_%28Buddhism%29

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Preta

While all the gods of the Kāmadhātu are subject to the passions to some degree, the Asuras above all of them have become addicted to them, especially wrath, pride, boasting and bellicosity.

Because of their passions, rebirth as an Asura is considered to be one of the four unhappy births (together with rebirth as an animal, a preta, or a being in Naraka). The state of an Asura reflects the mental state of a human being obsessed with force and violence, always looking for an excuse to get into a fight, angry with everyone and unable to maintain calm or solve problems peacefully. In terms of power, Asuras rank above 'humans' [the base survival reality tunnel based on passion, desire, doubt, and pride] but below most of the other deities.

To be fair, several of the sucky noobs have been the same people.

That makes it make more sense.
