if what happened in where ever conformed to neo's will, instead of gettign his ass kicked repeatedly by smith, he would jsut lay down the atomic whoopass without the effort of moving a finger, removing smith from the entire system within moments of him reapearing. instead he is a superhuman like fella in the things, the champion of good against the forces of evil while the gods (the orcale and the archetecht) stand by as spectators mroe or less. they also tried to tie in the metaphor of this life beign a dream and death being to wake from the dream that is this life, in which reality as we know it was a vuideo game, and the "real world" was one we could find only if we awake from the video game reality.

in fact they cram jsut about every scrap of religiousism/mysiticsm, etc, they could find(including to a certain extent discoridanism, the number if fives and 23s in various parts is good enough evidence for me towards that end), it's a popular culture movie, designed for every, geek, goth dweed, dork, etc, etc, from every walk of life can pay 8 bucks to see.
