I have just read very interesting book of Okakura Kakuzo, one of the most famous Japanese writers of break of XIX and XX cent. He used to propagate Japanese culture in western countries, mostly in USA. His books written in English for American readers were: The Ideals of the East, The Awakening of Japan, The Book of Tea. I have read this last and I can,Äôt wait for more :). Actually in this book not much is about tea but about Japanese symbolism, philosophy, art and misunderstandings between East and West. Parts about tea are connected with its history, tao and zen, ceremony of the tea and appreciating it by Chinese and Japanese. Really worth reading, if someone is interested in eastern cultures and Japanese philosophy.
