The delictive group accuses the president Alvaro Colom of receiving 11.5 million dollars before the close of 2007 elections, and that he will pay for not delivering, with guilty or innocents.

Basicly the Zetas paid him to leave their alleged home base alone, but since he started making "operativos" confiscating weapons, planes and the like, they threatened the media to deliver the message on pain of getting themselves or relatives killed.

Glittersnatch would be a rather unfortunate condition, if a halfway decent troll name.

No, you can call it anarchy.

I knew the Zetas were expanding both north and southwards, but I didn't quite expect them to be trying to buy the Guatemalan Presidency.  If indeed that is what happened.  I know if I was going to start an insurgency I'd try and put as much blame for the coming violence on the leaders of said country as well.

Guatemala has a separatist movement a la Cataluña style, so there's a lot going on.

That'll be fun.  Sepratists and organized crime go together like fat kids and cake.  And that's just ordinary organized crime, which Los Zetas most certainly are not.  I see a lot of free training and improved weaponry in these guys' future.
