I had to take a food safety course for my fancy new delivery job. Nothing unusual
UNTIL!
The form/test/whatever made the claim that food safety is especially important nowadays because of 9/11.

Which reminds me of all that nonsense people generally do in the name of being in a "post 9/11 world", but with the added strangeness due to the fact that
1. That seems to be giving a lot of undue importance to the food service industry and it's role in preventing terrorism.
and
2. The whole test amounted to "wash your hands, idiots." Which is something you'd think they would bring up no matter what.

Anyways, that's all I got.
Well, my gynecologist committed suicide...

It's more important to wash your hands in a post 9/11 because you must remember always that our enemies are everywhere. They're making your pizza with dirty butt hands so you get food poisoning. It's biological warfare. If your coworker's name is Ahmed, you must make absolutely sure that he's washing his hands. If he doesn't, you know who to report him to.

You know, I think I'll apply for a job in the Ministry of Love, if things don't work out with this whole Classics thing.

In all seriousness, I was tired of the "9/11" rhetoric 10 years ago. It makes more a little cranky that this shit is STILL going on, and that apparently, the Association of Minimum Wage Delivery Kids is the 37th line of defense against terrorism, right in between the Naval Reserve and the League of Women Voters.

:lulz: That's delightful.
