ITT: Bored middle-class white people who are offended at being called middle-class white people.  :lulz:

Sounds like "mission accomplished" to me.

Yep.

Now we can all get back to reading about how fucked up everyone's life is, in the Open Bar thread.  Sufficient attention will be paid, and all is right with the universe.

I call False Dichotomy... just because Bored Middle Class White People may want something to rebel against; it doesn't preclude Bored Lower Class, Bored Upper Class, Interested Middle Class or White/Brown/Green/Purple people from also wanting something to rebel against.

EDIT TO ADD:

Besides, didn't the poor people get all their rebelling out during the past couple centuries? It's our turn now bitches!  :lulz:

Bingo on the false dichotomy.

There's actually a reason I think it's important to recognize privilege and boredom. That reason is that if you fail to recognize it, it becomes all to easy to assume that our situation is the default situation. That tends to lead to a certain type of judgment that is usually cast against people who do not share our position of luxury.

Bored white people, recognize. Appreciate.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

The aforementioned judgment, BTW, is exactly what comes into play when you see people who are dissatisfied not in what THEY are not accomplishing, but with what you are not accomplishing for them.

Whatever happened to "be the change you want to see"?

Right. It's clear that we're failing you, and you expect more and better from us.

You are the board spokesman, now?

Its true, I mean the purple people have been rebelling for decades  against the aliens that come and eat them before singing rock and roll music... and yet no one supports their cause, not even Al Sharpton (and he will fucking anything).

Speaking for myself, I'm not sure I appreciate being told I'm not doing enough to entertain you and change the world.

I never said anything of the kind.

But you won't be happy until there's a huge screaming fight to ease your butthurt - over whatever it is this time - so have at it.

Let me know when you're done.

I'm not fighting. And I haven't gotten personal - not sure why you and Charley want to take it into that realm, but I'm not interested in going there. I'm not mad at you, Roger, I just have a different opinion about organizing and what's important. Same opinion I've always had, only usually I'm butting heads with Cram over it, not you.
