Ah.  My liberal white guilt kicked in there for a second... I guess I cross-wired "porchmonkey" with the common term for a slave that worked in the main house, rather than the fields.

Was unaware of the southern connotation.  Was widely used where I grew up for kids in general in that age range.   

No worries.  It was widely used where I grew up too, you just got your mouth washed out with soap when you said it

Fuck no. We had both. Switches ruin an afternoon. Soap ruins your whole day.
