I liked how they introduced her, like "her mother died in an insane asylum thinking she was Queen Victoria" and my thought was, I like where I think this is going. I was not disappointed.

@chasemit: "A gay transgendered person who leaks U.S. military secrets -- Chelsea Manning is like the final boss in a Republican videogame."

Pretty sure Chelsea's hetero.
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

Cain

Yeah.  My understanding was that they used gay in place of transgendered, maybe as Manning had not confirmed anything to that effect yet.

Bu🤠ns

Well there's a lot of speculation going on about this...either way I still lol'd at 'final boss in a Republican videogame.'

They used both. Maybe she switched orientations along with genders and is now a lesbian.

Either way, fuck Republicans, I hope they're seething.

"Billy, when I say that ethics is our number one priority and safety is also our number one priority, you should take that to mean exactly what I said. Also quality. That's our number one priority as well. Don't look at me that way, you're in the corporate world now and this is how it works."

I would laugh, but it's probably too close to the truth.

I'm honestly avoiding the story.

The headline tells me all I need to know. something that has no bearing on Manning nor the case and is really none of my business, and reading the comments section, which I do for any news article out of compulsion, is just going to make me want to damage my computer. And my computer has done nothing wrong here. My computer lets me talk to you spags, play games, find out new information and do my homework. My computer is my friend.

What I hate about the coverage about Manning seeking gender reassignment is that it comes in the slot reserved in the media for negative coverage about popular or iconic people in the news. They can't fault anything Manning did, especially if they talk about specifics. So instead they come out with this "oh and by the way Bradley Manning is queer and wants to be a woman" shit, because that's the "worst" they've got on her. So it disgusts me on one hand because it's basically a smear campaign, and on the other hand because a person's gender identity can be used to "smear" them in the first place. They're fooling the masses with their own ignorance, and while they're at it they're potentially doing a lot of damage to other people who have no connection to Manning other than their "atypical" gender identities.

See this is why I rarely post much around here.  V3X, and a good number of others basically articulate the way I typically feel inside so when it comes time to post something or not post something, it's usually just a matter of finding out who said it already.

Boyfriend just came home early.

Me: "Wow, you're uh...really early today."

Him: "Yeah, we finished the class early."

Me: "Powerpoint presentation and then out?"

Him: "No...shipping personal goods."

Me: "...what?"

Him: "Yes, and the lady that was going to show us didn't show up."

Me: "Wait, they teach you how to ship packages in the Navy?!"

Him: *nods* "You have no idea what they fucking cover in C-School, it's a joke. And, once I move commands again, they have to teach me...AGAIN!"

Me: "Well...They certainly are, uh, thorough?"

Him: "Please, you should be there for the, 'So this tool is called a screwdriver' class."

Sad thing is they have to teach and re-teach these bullshit classes because some jackass will fuck things up like trying to use a screwdriver to unjam a printer that was incorrectly shipped overseas.

Thanks :)

Although I don't usually feel like I'm not good enough.  Nipped that little demon a little while back :)

I think what I'm getting at is that it's ultimately why I've stuck around for so long.  I have to add, however, that it's not always necessarily a case of others confirming my beliefs -- which is healthy.
