I mean, in general I think that the average comic and the average TV show share a similar baseline intellectual potential, but I'd still rather read The Watchmen a hundred times than watch the Ellen DeGeneres show once.

Holy crap. I'd rather watch Twilight (without the rifftrax track) than read Watchmen more than twice.

You realize you also gotta read the HELLO I AM A METAPHOR stupid (BTW METAPHOR) pirate (DID YOU NOTICE IT'S A METAPHOR) story again, right?

And also the really long boring walls of text in between the chapters about stuff that doesn't actually matter except for the one or two plotpoints that are hidden in it.

And those fucking emo pirates, goddamnit, I'll watch sparkly vampires any day, seriously. OH OH UHHHH LOOK AT ME I'M SO DAMNED AND MUST PAY FOR MY HONOUR OR SINS OR SOMETHING WHATEVER BTW DID YOU NOTICE I'M A GODDAMN METAPHOR

e-prime disclaimer: let it seem fairly unclear I understand the apparent subjectivity of the above statements. maybe.

INFORMATION SO POWERFUL, YOU ACTUALLY NEED LESS.

Hey, it's pulp entertainment. I'm not holding it to the same standard I'd hold Solzhenitsyn to. :lulz:

Some yahoo yelled at me, saying 'GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH', and I thought, "I'm feeling generous today.  Why not BOTH?"

Oh...if it's even half as good you'll probably be my new favorite person for a few weeks.

Mesozoic Mister Nigel

This is one of the stupidest conversations I have ever seen here.  :lulz:
"I'm guessing it was January 2007, a meeting in Bethesda, we got a bag of bees and just started smashing them on the desk," Charles Wick said. "It was very complicated."

East Coast Hustle

Right? Hard to believe that MRH hasn't made an appearance.

That's a bold statement considering some of the other threads I've seen bumped over the last year, going back a few years but please, elaborate.

I thought it was pretty damn funny.

Verthaine told us he's the caterer for the show.  Not that THAT says anything bout the quality of it, but perhaps a bit of its authenticity.  Don't think he'd be on board with an outfit that didn't try to BE something it wasn't.  If you get my drift.  Drafty.  (sorry, that's a phrase my dad says)

Treme's awesomeness in a can with cheese, and makes me YEARRN to be in N'Awlins everytime I watch a 'sode.

I now have a love-hate relationship with HBO.  I watch too damned much of it.  BUT I've started reading fantasy fic again, something I stopped doing in undergrad.

Yeah but it's still stupid. These things are not mutually exclusive.

Yeah I realized that after I posted it but eh..  went back to the book.

THERE'S NOT MUCH YOU CAN DO IF I STEAL THE REMOTE IN THE DENTIST'S WAITING ROOM.

WHAT'S THAT, STEVE?  YOU CAN ONLY WATCH ONE PROGRAM AT A TIME?

I'M WATCHING 20, IN "FLIP-VIEW".

TRY NOT TO GET CNN CONFUSED WITH CAPTAIN PLANET, OPIE.  I'LL BE KICKING BAG, SHOVING THE ENTIRE DISH OF SUGAR-FREE CHEWING GUM INTO MY MOUTH.
