Hi.

Could someone explain to me what this is (sparing no detail)? I did I quick search and couldn't find any info on the particular peice mentioned in the OP.
A fisher of men, or a manner of fish?

It's a piece, using the goddess Discordia as a character, explaining why strife is necessary, written by an Italian bloke 400 years ago.

It really sounds awesome. I was able to find refferences to some of his other works, but nothing about the one in question here. Why is that?

Be what you would seem to be - or, if you'd like it put more simply - never imagine yourself not to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that what you were or might have been was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be otherwise.

I honestly can't wait to read this. I wish I had some $$ to contriubute, but, alas, I do not. Kudos to those willing to drop the money for this.

Looks like an interesting read. Sorry that I can't contribute.

Also, you only blanked out your name on one of the emails.

Because it's a lesser known work, and as far as I can tell only appears in print as part of a collection of his works.

Interestingly enough, I have a professional interest in this author, as he wrote a commentary on the Aeneid, and the Aeneid is going to figure in prominently to my next topic of research....

Ok guys and gals, still working on figuring out the paypal dealie. Today got eaten by having to pick up our son from school early, and the girl having 5 hrs of sleep over the past 2 days.

Twid, since I'm collecting the funds, do you mind if I pay and get it shipped here? I could definitely use your help formatting the order request.

Everyone who contributes will have direct access to the files when I get them uploaded, and then we can open access up to everyone interested. The Library does hold copywrite on the IMAGES OF THE PAGES, but not on the content. So I'm figuring that I'll be running some OCR text-recognition on it and uploading it in that form.

Coyote, we can get higher res images but it's damn expensive to do so. Good point to keep in mind tho.

Count me in, if you get numbers together before the 1st.  Going on vacation, so I'll be away for a couple weeks after that, so won't be able to send if it's after that (unless you wait 'til after the 15th, anyway).

I will totally chip in! I also want an opportunity to poke at the manuscript and put in some 21st century prophecies. For example, the discovery of the planet Eris as a signal that Eris is ready to return.  :lulz:

If my math is right this should now bring the cost down to a little over five bucks a head, yes?
