I love how defending manatees is not only hating the Bible (since there is at least a theological basis for that) but also the Bill of Rights.

Though you could argue allowing the manatee to continue existing just allows for liberal elitists to compare their appearance to Teabaggers, which is a form of cruel and unusual punishment.
