Modified ecstasy could one day have a role to play in fighting some blood cancers, according to scientists.

Ecstasy is known to kill some cancer cells, but scientists have increased its effectiveness 100-fold, they said in Investigational New Drugs journal.

Their early study showed all leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma cells could be killed in a test tube, but any treatment would be a decade away.

A charity said the findings were a "significant step forward".

Ever since the late 80's when I first took MDMA, I suspected there might be some staggeringly significant medical uses for it, and so bearing that in mind, ever since, I have gobbled ecstasy pills, and tooted lines of MDMA whenever I felt the need. In a  kind of experimental, general purpose immunisation program. And after over 20 years on this self imposed regimen of regular luv-dup, the results of my research do indeed bear out the findings of this news. Despite exposing my lungs selflessly, to clouds of carcinogenic tobacco smoke, on a daily basis, I haven't once had any type of cancer during this period.

Which honestly would be awesome; can you imagine if people who survived cancer were like "My treatment was so much fun! It was a year of complete relaxation and everything was beautiful and lovely" instead of "I puked and felt sick and exhausted and all my hair fell out."
