Please, stop turning me into your posterboy for "trait some people have that bothers me and I want to get off my chest".  My OP was not about my poverty level, or income level or any of it.  It was only brought up, at all, in response to the claim calling me middle class.  And that only because it is apparently difficult for some people to understand why jumping to conclusions is a stupid thing to do.  The thread quickly devolved into stupidity and shit-flinging upon the very first response to the OP, even though I held off responding in kind for quite awhile hoping it would come back.

also, Trix.  you already crapped the bed on this forum with your current handle.  This thread is testament to that.  i can imagine this thread being started by a more well received member of the forum, and after an initial 'huh. that's a bit out of character', a normal conversation might ensue.  but since you've already established a reputation, anything you say is going to get jumped on, and your mode of response does not de-escalate the tension with this crowd like it would amongst others.  

if you value the content of this forum, and want to be a part of it in some form, i would recommend scrapping your account and starting over.  i don't know if something like that requires mod approval, but i have a hard time seeing you getting any better of a response than you did in this thread otherwise.

Ok ok.  I was going to continue trolling, but after three attempts to post interrupted by new responses, I just read what Iptuous wrote and decided to respond to that instead, as that level of sincerity I can respect.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.  The idea of starting a new account also occurred to me, weeks ago in a different thread with a similar problem.  The problem with that idea is threefold:
First, as you can see ITT when my roommate registered an account, I'd get called out on it anyway, ruining the point.
Second, I am having a constant internal debate as to whether it's worth the effort, considering the sides of themselves people are showing here.
Third, and perhaps my biggest issue with it, is that it would feel rather dishonest to present a 'false face' as it were.
