Agreed, but to say that this shenanigans is being masterminded by Obama's supporters instead of pandering to their voter base (which is what this is) is a bit far fetched.

I concur with Freeky. And I'd like to add that this here bill is some crazy bullshit. It makes me wonder what they're doing behind the scenes while we're all raging about this blatant stupidity.

Stuff like this is actually becoming such a big issue it looks like Republicans might lose the election because of it.

The timing and progression really does make me suspicious that this issue was manufactured by the Obama camp.

Having thoroughly pissed off the progressive base, done nothing to impress the independents and given even the truest of true-blue dems reason to feel really fucking dumb right now, about his only hedge was to pray for some combination of Palin/Santorum/Bachman to emerge out of the primaries...When the slim hope for Santorum to pull off the nomination, turned to nil, all of a sudden this "religious contraception thing" popped up.

A pseudo-legitimate stink is raised. Obama "compromises" by sticking to his original position only wording it differently. Smells like victory but tastes like bullshit. Perfect recipe for convincing an entire party that they can win political points by pissing off every rational human being within ear-shot.

If this doesn't do the trick, I expect to see a proposed Constitutional Amendment banning the use of the word "Darwin" within 500 feet of schools, churches or military recruiting stations.

I'd like to think that's fantastically paranoid.

It's not, at all, I'd just like to think it is.
