A quick observation:  The PD forums are, for the most part, chock full of people who dislike the Bush administration.  This is a loose "community" of people who don't really need to be convinced of the need to depose the prez.

That is to say, what goes on here is fairly different than what goes on outside.  

The little games we play in here to keep ourselves amused, for me, is a way to keep on top of things, to sharpen the mind, to make "po" connections (obscure reference, but basically, it means to try and make connections between disparate ideas), to recharge the batteries in order to make a bigger impact "out there".

If you look around, there have been posts of a more "serious" or "relevant" or "revolutionary" slant here, which I have been known to participate in, as well.  But if you take away the fun, you make it no more interesting than Slate or Salon.  So, keep us on our toes with your rants and speeches, but don't assume that just becasue we play 1kbwc or the three word game, we're stuipid, fluff-filled cannon fodder.


And by the way, taking "I Worry" literally is disingenuous, and deliberately obtuse.  You can do better than that.

At 11:27, I was at work at Taco Bell, when my manager asked me to take orders for a few minutes while she went off to do something else. At 11:28, a car arrived.

Their total? $10.23.

They were followed by a second car. Their total? $10.23.

They were followed by a third car. Their total? $5.55.

They were followed by a fourth car. Their total? $4.89 (8 = 2^3 and 9 = 3^2).

Before a fifth car could come, my manager returned and I stopped taking orders.

This sign means at least one of at least two things. Either we are in the stage of Bureaucracy, and the Bureaucracy is prepared to fall, or we are entering a stage of Bureaucracy that will never fall to aftermath.
