This is a perspective thing, man. At least some of the people posting in the thread thought they were deriving benefit from having the discussion, even if only as an exercise in debate. This is why I'm emphasizing that people are choosing to post there rather than being swept by some magic spell. The people who choose to post do it for a reason which includes some benefit somewhere.

Sure, we are dumping it into a black hole for no useful reason at all, accomplishing nothing, but it at the very least eliminates the suspicious that PD is incapable of massive displays of convergent energy.

Cain and Roger keep complaining about their rants not getting enough posts but neither one has addressed the idea that perhaps that's because they're preaching to the choir, and all the choir has to add to most preaching amounts to, "GLORY TO THE OP HALLELUJAH!"

What is there to discuss? We're all assholes here that have an interest in strife, so why is it suddenly a big surprise that presenting information and stories that don't challenge the group's beliefs don't garner the interest that even old, unresolved conflicts do?

I never came to this place to merely acquire more information that fits perfectly with my worldview, no matter how eloquent, ingenious, or creative it might be.
