One Thing I Find Amusing...

The Good Reverend Roger

One thing that I find amusing is that there are a few members who won't post while I'm around.  Either they disapprove of me on general principles, or they're mad at me for something, usually having to do with being spoken down to by me for their condescending attitude toward me.

Believe me when I say that I sometimes stay up late at night, weeping horrible sticky tears into my pillow from my diseased, red-rimmed eyes, when I stop to think about this.  I mean, there I was, being all ROGER for NO REASON, and I have NO EXCUSE.  What can I say?  I'm an asshole.

But it's really not about the whiff coming out of my crusty BVDs1, is it?  No, these people are mad at me because I dared question their beliefs in a manner that they didn't appreciate...Which is to say, I dared question their beliefs at all.  Now, I question my OWN beliefs all the time, and you don't see ME getting all butthurt about that, right?  Or at least I don't stay butthurt at myself for 2+ months.

I DID spend a little while concerned about the opinions of the people I may have alienated.  But then it occurred to me...If they get THAT pissed off because I ASKED A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS, then the problem isn't with me.  I DID piss off a couple of people with my big mouth that didn't deserve it, but not by ASKING QUESTIONS.

And further, it occurs to me that if I pissed off some people by throwing their own shit back in their faces, then maybe they shouldn't have thrown their shit in the first place

And this isn't just about one incident or one series of threads, etc.  It's a general thing, mostly having to do with people who are TOO DAMN SERIOUS to have a GOOD TIME2

So, if I'm insufficiently pure to be worth having a conversation with...Well, then, fuck you right back.  Wait, scratch that, no NEED for me to say it, because you're already doing it.  And I'm laughing at you for it, kid.

And if it's because I'm insufficiently cool enough for you, no worries.  You'll be my age in the blink of an eye, so enjoy being RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING while you still can.

Love and Kisses,
Samuel Goldwyn.

1  At least let's ASSUME they're BVDs, for the sake of decency.  They aren't really.

There's nothing to handle.  I am merely a giant funhouse mirror, that takes peoples' skewed vision and shows it to them without the wobbly parts they've built to cover the peeling vinyl.  Cain does the same thing, only in a less obnoxious way.

Funny thing is, the people that don't talk to ME also don't talk to HIM.

And I can't speak for him, but I've given up giving a shit about that sort of person.  They aren't serious about having a good time.  They lack COMMITMENT to Saturday Night.  The ideas that seem SO BIG AND NEW AND IMPORTANT to them are, from the outside, either just COMMON SENSE or WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I used to have such a flaw in my constitution. Fortunately I installed a Pro-Roger Constitutional Amendment.

Another thing:  When dealing with zealots, it's better to be TOTALLY AGAINST them, than ALMOST COMPLETELY ON THE SAME PAGE, as far as your standing with them goes.  If you aren't completely submissive to their personal take on the subject, then you're "part of the problem" just as much as if you were their own personal nemesis.

I mean, if you're dumb enough to care about that sort of thing.  I was.  After a couple of months of the cold shoulder, though, I couldn't care less.

It always helps, when taking your daily dose of ROGER™, to grab a handful of your pubic hair and tug gently, saying:

It would be more accurate to grab ahold of the hair on your head, tie it to the ceiling fan, and say "THAT could be MY ASS".

Another thing that's funny is that these same people are more than happy to talk to me or respond to my posts on FB, but not here...Because, I suppose, that would be "letting the side down".

Thing is, I'm feeling pretty ornery today (mostly on account of being bored), and if I'm not good enough to talk to HERE, then there won't be any talk THERE either.  So when I get home, I'm going to either block the people involved, or just shit on them so hard they block me.

Because I'm not feeling very constructive today.  Self Destructo the Wonder Chimp is at the wheel, and he says we need to vent our spleen before things get all crazy.

Ook, ook.

Incidentally, they'll respond on FB but not here?  That's... weird.

Well, if they talk to me HERE, they will seem less committed to The Cause to the other members of The Cause who post here.  You can get away with it on FB, I guess.

Yeah, and that's the one thing I learned here this last year.  Don't get on anyone else's bus.  If your busses happen to be going the same direction, that's great...But getting on THEIR bus automatically means trading YOUR beliefs for THEIR beliefs.

I've gone through this due to my recent schooling (apparently I'm still HSD IRL, they just call me JOE and I'm an ASS).
I'm surprised you'd even comment on such a thing.
This board has a natural evolution. It has a strong core, and people who attach to that core and become a part of the group know what's up. People that can't handle the reality shrivel up and go to find somewhere they like.
I have never in my life, online or IRL, found a group like this one. I couldn't be accepted by Christians of any breed, Hippies, Punks, Libertarians, Gym Rats, Mall Rats, Rat Rats, Book People, Movie People, Music People, Stoners, and I could go on...

I have no theories as to why I fit here, or why I can't stay away, and I will not try to speculate why others hate it here.
It's evolution, baby.

Oh, but yeah, you're mean as fuck and hard to argue with, and some people don't enjoy that. Sorry if this news shocks you.

And I find Cain way worse, with all his precious source citing and uppity accent. Fuck that guy.
