E-cig shops are popping up all over the place. Just in the last year, my town has sprouted four of them.

I'm mostly concerned about the stuff they're using to flavor the stuff. I'm pretty sure some of them contain Diacetyl, which we now know will kill you if you inhale the stuff constantly. Some of them even have coloring, which to me seems completely unnecessary.

This is why I use the plain stuff.

Nicotene, water, polyglycol.

That sounds like a good idea. AFAIK, none of the shops here sell plain.

When I was smoking hookah, I tried making my own shisha using different kinds of food flavorings. The only ones I found that worked were the ones intended for hard candy. I've consedered finding some unflavored, and then adding my own flavor, possibly just soaking some orange zest in it might work.

Also, "pretty sure" they contain Diacetyl?

They have butterscotch, I can't imagine what else they would use for that. Some of the ones that don't have "butter" right in the name are bound to contain it as well.

I was just looking, and Diacetyl hasn't been used in e-cigs for a few years.

The only current references I could find to its use are at scare sites that also try to say that polyglygol is ethylene glycol.

How is it even possible to know? Is someone testing the stuff?

Here?  Yes.  In fact, there are so many people DETERMINED to outlaw the things, that if anyone cheated, they'd be all over that shit.

Basically, it's the American punishment mentality...How DARE you have a vice that won't kill you horribly?  How DARE YOU?

Salty

Those things seem super rad, and a lot better than when I tired Blu a few years ago.

I am still glad I quit 10 years ago, but sometimes it's nice to have that controlled and consistent stress relief.

I am confused about the nicotine though. It all by itself is a carcinogen, right? It amplifies the carcinogenic properties of tar and such, but it can increase he risk all by itself, even through the patch, right?

I dont understand why people keep smoking the regular ones. Habit, convenince, nostalgia?

No.  It is a toxin, though.

A smoking addiction, paired with oral fixation is fucking hell.

Almost managed to stop last term, but as finals approached and I had to write all of my essays in two weeks I started again. I think I'll have a go at it after a couple of weeks. Quitting weed now and smokes are pretty helpful, when I get a craving.

Probably gonna do it cold turkey though. Withdraw is a high of its own.
innit safe, fam?

It pisses me off that a lot of places are passing laws to treat e-cigs the same as regular ones. It's that fucking punishment fetish culture coming through again... "Oh shit, they found a way to enjoy something pleasurable without the cancer or bothering anyone! We need to punish them, STAT!"

I was looking forward to e-cigs catching on because I doubt the vapors will throw my lungs into fits like smoke does.
Hope was the thing with feathers.

E-cigs taste like shit, though.
