I used to bicycle about 7-8 miles to my college, and I made better time than I would have on the bus system.

90% of the time, that's be the case here, too. It actually doesn't take much longer to ride downtown than to drive, and once you take parking into consideration, it's about the same.

Slightly more complicated when you also have a 10-year-old and three teenagers to transport, though.
