Morning, Spags.  I am on today, as I am at work (on account of FA being to stupid to be trusted with payroll), but then I will mostly be absent until a week from today, as I have my son back for a time.

Have fun with the boy!

Plan to.

He's now about 240 pounds, at 6'5".  Eats 4000 calories a day.

Not a spare ounce on him.   :argh!:

Enjoy the visit. :) Tell him we said hi. :P

So someone on the "science" forum actually unironically said "I think instinct is learned, not inborn".

Sure, if you just disregard the definition of instinct and make up a new one.

Salty

Yeah, so, snow, on the ground, all over the garden.

Not cool.
The world is a car and you're the crash test dummy.

Ah, youth! Meanwhile I'm starving my ass off to lose 15 lbs. Although I recently researched a study on that, that said the innate changes in metabolism due to aging are negligible, our slowed metabolism is almost entirely due to becoming less active with age.

So my ass is fat because I'm old AND LAZY, not just because I'm old.  :horrormirth:

In my case, when I was young, my metabolism was at full blast all the time.  Now, if I get off my ass, I start losing weight, just like I would have as a kid.

Speaking of which, I need to punch new holes in my belt again!

Almost ready to get back on LDW.  Got the next chapter - which is critical, if I fuck up, it will be now - percolating in my head.  It's just not ready yet.  After that, the dam should burst.

Awesome!

Yeah, I have a GREAT scene for WWII zombies, Alex, and the spags all on their way to the camp, but it's the way in which to write it that hasn't gelled yet.

Snow's falling here, too.

Not this far down yet, but you can see it, spreading down the mountains.  A slow, inevitable advance, that man nor beast can hope to thwart.  The only choices are to flee, or bunker in with thick clothes and hot chocolate.

A fellow Newfie pal of mine here in Tucson had just made a trip back to the rock, and was SNOWED IN trying to return over the weekend.

In September.

I had this weird sensation on the way out to the car this morning.  I was not only insufficiently overheated, I was actually underheated enough to be very mildy uncomfortable.

Strange days.

Yeah, I suspect we're safe only until the ground becomes saturated. Then we're fucked.

And I have NO INTERNET other than PD.

Then check out the Greek Fascism thread.  I wanted to bring up some things about fascism, instead of The Brother Nihil Hour O Power (though he is involved).
