I guess it serves me right.

I went away from these forums a while ago, to attend to some personal business. When I return, what do I find? Everything has changed. Being a forum based primarily around Eris and the Principia, I don't mind that at all. Change is, after all, good.

What dismays me is that I don't recognize anyone actively posting herein any longer. Reverend Roger appears to still haunt these forums from time to time, as does Bella and Z3, but other than that, I really don't see anyone I know from the "Good Old Days".

You people are making me feel old, damnit! I feel like I should be swinging my cane at you damn kids, as you speed away on your Razor scooters (or whatever the fuck it is you damn kids ride anymore)!

Maybe it's just me, but this place feels different, and not in a good way. What is missing is the fucking outrage at the System that we used to see here. Okay, maybe most of the people around here then were only bitching to hear themselves bitch (myself included, lest Roger skewer me on a pike for that comment), but there was a geniuneness that I don't see here anymore.

Not to cast aspursions upon you folks, since I don't really know any of you, but what the fuck is wrong with you people?!?

Where is your outrage? From what I can see, these forums have become a place where people hang out and pretend to be Anarchists, because it makes them feel somehow cooler than the other fucktards in their little world.

Maybe I'm wrong about that. Maybe I have missed much in my time away. Perhaps there are people genuinely concerned about the shithole our world has become, and might just be willing to do something drastic to win our world back from the Greyfaces (for lack of a better term). I guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Not to sound flippant, or like a bumper sticker (Gods forbid!), but if you can't see anything wrong here, you haven't been paying attention.

My point here, if I ever really had a fucking point, was that these forums have always been chaotic and prone to meaningless prattle. But when I haunted these threads before, there was two things I don't see here now:

A burning hatred of Greyfaces like Cheney, Bush, and their ilk, and some folks who wanted to make some changes for the better.

My guess (again, not knowing any of you, it could be an ill-informed one) is that Bush "winning" the election has demoralized the troops, so to speak. Of course Bush and his staff aren't the whole problem... hell, they're probably just the tip of the iceberg, but I don't exactly see anyone stepping up to "fight the power", let alone even complain about it.

Thus my question, "What the fuck is wrong with you people?"

These forums feel dead. Does that make my point clear to you?

You're right about at least one person.  I lost my sense of outrage in the last election.  When you pour your heart and soul into fighting evil and it turns out more than half the people you're fighting for think evil is not so bad, well, what's the point?  Fuck em, American democracy has shown itself clearly to be the tyranny of the uneducated majority.  

Don't get me wrong, I'm no anarchist.  It's just that I refuse to be the Jiminy Cricket for a nation of Pinocchios with no interest in becoming real boys.

No.  They've got as much right to the government they want to have as I do.  They've also got as much right to live and to live the way they want to as I do, and frankly I'm tired to the point of rage at the condescending attitude I get from people who think that because they're smarter than someone else they get to decide who lives and dies.  Fuck THAT noise.  If you're looking to rile me up, that's a super place to start.

THAT, in fact, is what I think is so fucking evil about the current crop of people running my country.  That they think that there's something great and special about them that means they can send my friends and brothers and sisters off to fight and fucking DIE in some country that none of us give a flinging SHIT about.

No, I am not suggesting we kill all of the fucking inbred scumbags who apparently voted for Bush. Some of my friends and co-workers also voted for Bush, despite my vehement arguments against such an action.

Furthermore, all people in America deserve to get the government they choose to have, as with any other democracy. If that's what we had the last two Presidential elections, I'd be disgusted, but at least I could live with it.

But that isn't what we had this time, and it was blatently obvious. So why isn't there any indignation? Sure, I see some threads regarding the election from a month or so ago, but isn't now the time to start working towards undermining these fucks, now that they feel they are safe in their positions?

So we make long threads about nothing whatsoever.  So what?  If you become obsessed withe the current administration, you're gonna lose your sense of humor, and then you'd be no better than the Greys.  I'm pretty sure there are people around here who are doing their part to make the world a little more interesting (Bella, for example, just through her two jobs is 1. Bringing mystery into people's lives, and 2. Helping those who the various systems have trampled).  So we don't talk about the things we've done, so what?  By the very nature of who we are, Eris manifests.  And if they're not Discordian enough for you, scolding won't change anything.

And hey, you know one thing the election showed?  Hate doesn't bring down the system.  The liberals hated the conservatives, but didn't put up anything resembling a decent alternative.  They just bashed the shit out of Bush.  And yes, they Bush team bashed right back.  But they were able to couch their vulgarities in "maintaining the status quo", and as we have seen, and it has been shown, there are far more neophobes than neophiles.

If we're gonna win society over, we're gonna have to be more clever, not more angry.  So all apologies if I'm not whining about the fact that the Democrats lost by one of the slimmest margins ever.  It just means we'll actually have to be more effective in the future.  For now, I say we focus on the local level, & build up a groundswell that will rise in 2008.

Whooops.  that is to say, in addition, you should follow some of your own advice, and instead of complaining about a lack of political threads, make some of your own, if that's what's importatnt to you.  Sure, some cranks will probably invade it, & try to derail you by saying "poop is good" or something, but if you want to talk about it, I'm sure there are at least 6-7 people willing to hash out whatever's on your mind.

I think the forum blew itself out in a frenzy just after the election. The
anger here was thick and gooey. Now people are in a resting mode,
recharging, and trying to figure out just what to do. And I mean
something other than pimp for the Democrats. It's one thing to say
you are angry and be all hot and frothy. Its something else to do
something. Yeah, not talk, do. So give people some slack. We are
working on it.

4) For those of you who think my comments are all about the fucking election, you're wrong. I used that as one example of where I think this forum has gotten soft. Yes, soft. If I didn't make that plain before, let me remind you I was posting in the middle of the fucking night, at work no less. Not an excuse, but I didn't really have the mindset nor the time to elaborate.
5) I certainly do need to "catch up" here, but it is difficult to do with all of the flotsam in here. Thus my "outburst".
