About the waiter one.. doesn't the root homo mean 'same' not man? As in homogeneous? Homo Sapien meaning thinker that is the same?

I think it meaning "same" is a derivative from one language, while he was referring to the genus type of homo, derived from Latin.

Homo- (combination form of homos) for same is from the Greek, homo for male human is from Latin, which also implies that the alleged server got it wrong, too: homo-sexual is not man-sexual, it's same-sexual.

In a case by case basis it could be intellectual laziness, or frustration. Individually it's probably something that can be worked through.

On a memetic collective scale it is a wall, devoid of meaning, impenetrable and composed entirely of screaming.

It really shows how important it is that everyone does their part to establish a dialogue for change on an individual level, and how resorting to childish namecalling or dehumanisation even if just once off, fuels something larger and monstrous.

I think homeo means 'same' though I can't be arsed to look it up. Homo means man though, Homo Sapiens is 'thinking man' and Homo Erectus is 'straight-up man'

I think it's important to remember that in Dodo, we are dealing with the actual smartest user of the board; a person who knows American English better than those for whom it is their native tongue. He may not be a trained linguist or etymologist, but his years of experience translating technical documents gives him knowledge much deeper and broader than anyone who has studied English or, certainly, merely grown up speaking it.

Therefore, we should not argue with his corrections, however condescending, but instead, bow our heads before his wisdom.
