@MorningEdition :: Mike Pompeo — who refused a House subpoena — would be a top witness for Democrats in the impeachment trial.  He is not set to testify, but he spoke to @NPRKelly. She asked the secretary of state if he would defend Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch: https://t.co/1YoGWOSdqb ( http://tinyurl.com/urzjjgd )

May we have more of this, plz?

The more I think about, the less it makes sense. Trump can just call Pompeo and have her withdrawn for any reason he wants to give. That's what Presidents do, they appoint ambassadors.

Instead the President, infamously mobbed up as he is, tells a couple of douchebags with no legal authority to remove her to "take her out". This from a man who's tag-line is "you're fired"?

It just doesn't sit right.

He's just so used to being a shady piece of shit that it's his default mode. Even when he could fire someone without raising any eyebrows he just automatically does it in a mob boss kinda way because he doesn't know anything else.

See, it's to make a point about him being able to disregard the law... it's going beyond the demonstration of political muscle/power.

his interviews and shit in the 80s sound like an actual person talking tho? and not the unholy lovechild of one of the finding nemo seagulls and an early chatbot.

I think the 80's were when he was doing all the coke that made his brain into what it is now.

OK, maybe a little, but not enough to make any difference.

From what I've heard, he never directly fires someone in his actual businesses. he *always * gets someone else to do it. The Apprentice was just horseshit.

But that...well...that's a good point.

If I'm not mistaken, there was no one but Trump in that conversation with the legal authority to fire her.

Remember how the GOP was bitching about "secret" house meetings, even when half of the committee members were republican?

Oh, yeah.

GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham wrote on Twitter that he “totally” supports Lankford’s proposal. Graham, a key Trump ally, said the Bolton document should be made available to the Senate, in a classified setting, “where each Senator has the opportunity to review the manuscript and make their own determination.”

Senate Republicans were to meet behind closed doors to consider next steps.

I love the smell of flagrant hypocrisy in the morning.

That's the GOP's secret to success.  Never blush.
