As per this article:

"Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) waded into the controversy surrounding the algae- and peeling paint-plagued Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on Tuesday.

Asked by the MeidasTouch Network for her take on the fallout from President Donald Trump's troubled $14 million renovation project, the New York Democrat suggested the problems were predictable given the current White House's anti-science agenda.

"I mean, when you defund science research, when you don't really understand the first thing about science, yeah, they talked a bunch of smack," she said.

Ocasio-Cortez then zinged: "They said they had to repaint the pool and now they've turned the place into a swamp. They turned it into an actual swamp."

The "swamp" of Washington, D.C., was, of course, what Trump repeatedly vowed to drain during his three presidential campaigns."

So, it looks to me like it's time for a remake of that old Swamp Thing movie. Perhaps the people at The Onion would be interested in taking the project on. After all, they seem pretty flush with cash these days.
