People people...

What you are experienceing is nothing less than the logical conclusion of free speech, in the immediate aftermath of freedom of expression.  There are those who, finding freedom, find it necessary to immediately verbally defecate, releasing years of mental repression, and, like many who defecate, such acts are pleasing to the one doing it, but not so pleasant to those who have to watch.

We of the non-existant ELF (so falsely called) have developed methods to step around such piles, or build bridges over them, or wear stylish thigh-high boots and wade through.  We (which is to say, just me, as the ELF (which does not exist) is merely a base filter used in my head) find these methods of creative avoidance to be preferrable to the destructive solutions raised, such as banning, blocking, or otherwise limiting the voices raised.

In a sense, these forums teeter on the threshold of Chapel Perilous, and often frolics in the inky Void.  It is up to each individual to find their own solutions, and carry them out as they see fit.

We (I, maybe you; other isn the (false) ELF) must not allow our desires for convenience to manifest in insular ways.  For when we deny the Trolls in our midst, we deny the troll in ourselves, and in denying the troll in ourselves, we are unable to fully accept who we are, and what we are capable of.

And that leads to the Grey.

The strength is with us, my friends, the creative.  The ones who post out of joy, out of curiosity, out of wit.

I would say, "the ELF", but the ELF doesn't exist, so I won't.

I have an idea that if someone traces an IP to a location, i betcha they would all be in Illinois

2.   Perhaps.  However, even if it is, Efrim is also in Illinois.  Is he me, as well?  Hugh?  Donkeyote?

When's the last time you saw anyone rant?

The board has changed.  For worse or for better, who can say?  In any case, the people I had fun ranting with have moved on, and the people who remain tend to prefer open-ended conversation, which - though it is fine - isn't my cup of tea.

I'll be around now and again, though not very often.  I'm busy looking through the writing newsgroups for something more suited to my preferences.

I remeber when I first came here. The glory days of Tao Jones had passed long before then, of course, but there was still some erisian magic here... Now the disscussions have gone downhill; Even roger is leaving. Is anyone still serious about Chaos here, or has it become a joke?
