Without knowing exactly who actually said what, I'd like to stick my fly in this ointment:

I intend to make it clear that Hugh is a greyface faggot just like the people who kicked me out of the university.  It's personal.

There is all the difference in the world -- we'll get to that later.

There is no consipiracy, the world is not out to get you. It is not personal. (How could it be? The world doesn't even know you.)

Hugh is not The ManTM, unless he chooses to be. And he doesn't do that when he's being Hugh on the boards -- it is kind of his defining flavour.

The problem lies with the mdoerators.  Hugh tries to change my words when they do not need editing.  Bella can't give up a grudge.  

The problem here is that you seem to think that you have rights. You seem to think that this matters. You seem to think that Hugh crossed some imaginary line that violated your inviolable bits.

This is false. The Internet has no 'magic Constitution' that has all sorts of neato Amendments that guarantee some waffly 'rights'. Despite what a bunch of intellectual property lawyers might tell you, The Mgt functionally owns everything you put on these boards -- she can copy, change and destory it at whim. Her powers do not stop there, they include everything up to being able to shut the whole damn thing down without warning. This forum is lucky -- The Mgt is largely benevolent and thinks us amusing rather than vexing.

Now, The Mgt also has the power of delegation via a system of moderators. She has delegated certain powers to Hugh to use as he sees fit. She may have attached certain conditions on his use of these powers, she may not, I don't know. I would suspect that, given The Mgt and Hugh may well not have actually met in person, the only thing that she can really do to punish Hugh is remove those powers, in their entirety. Frankly, I doubt that The Mgt cares enough about anything that Hugh could 'do' to you by changing the database that these fora run on, for her to ever do that.

The Internet is a tyranny run by those who have the root passwords and like any tyranny, your can kill those who piss you off (and face any reprisals -- I wouldn't recommend this one in this case), appeal to the better sides of the people involved so that they choose to start behaving differently (which probably won't work as you seem to be incapable of showing the requisite humility (not that I am saying that that is a bad thing, just that you probably don't have this option here)) or you can appeal to someone higher up the food chain that the nasty people. And that's all.

Almost everyone else except a select few cannot see I do what everyone else does.  Almost no one listens when it's time to quit being mean.

You could copy my posts, word for word, and still not be doing the same thing as I am doing. You most certainly aren't doing the same as everyone else. I offer as evidence for this that you get a very different reaction to what you do than everyone else gets to what they do.

You see what is happening to you as being mean. You see it as Hugh bullying you. It isn't.

In Hugh's position, I may well choose to act differently (it'd be a sad world for both Hugh and I if we were just dopplergangers of one another). I am not in Hugh's poisition, Hugh is.

Without knowing the background of how Hugh came to be a moderator (which you don't -- Hugh and The Mgt know about half each and that's half more an anyone else) you can't even judge if what Hugh is doing constitutes a misuse of power. I suspect that it doesn't.

In short -- Hugh has every right to do what he's doing to you and there isn't a Bobdamned thing you can do about it. Why are you getting all wound up about it? Why does it matter?

I'd rather focus on mindfucking greyfaces and illuminati conspiracies than having to worry about whether or not my words are intact an hour after I leave them here or internal feuds.

Guido just about summed it up. In my case, The Mgt asked me to be a mod and I said "okay". That was it. No restrictions, no rules, no anything. Any and all questions of ethics, procedures, etc. are left up to each individual mod to figure out. The mod powers are indeed ours to "use as we see fit." I choose not to use them very often or very much because I know I'm not to be trusted. Other people choose to use them a lot or not at all. The mgt comes here and looks and sees what we're doing. She talks to the mods on a regular basis and to my knowledge has never done anything but support whatever we decide to do or leave undone. In other words, Guido is correct. There was no abuse of power because this forum is a privately owned corner of the web and Hugh was acting within the limits of the authority the owner of this forum gave him.

Sheesh, The Mgt knows that when you put Discordians in a position of power, they are still going to act like Discordians. She does indeed find us amusing rather than vexing.  Which is damned lucky, because most people couldn't or wouldn't put up with us.

As for last night. I was sitting right here when aini flooded the Or Kill forum with filth about Hugh. I saved copies of it all because I figured it would be long gone by morning. So while the stuff Hugh said and did is here for all of you to see, a lot of what aini said and did has disappeared into the ether. Which brings me to a point I've made before. You guys only see the surface of what goes on here, so you have no way of knowing what's being said to the mods in pm's or what is being posted and deleted almost immediately. It's very interesting late at night when the forums are almost empty.
