News:

Several times a month, I will be in a store aisle reaching for something and feel a hand going up the inside of my thigh. When I turn around to find myself alone with a woman, and ask her if she would prefer me to hold still so she can get a better feel for the situation, oftentimes she will act "shocked" claiming nothing had happened, it must be somebody else...

We at the DIA wear mostly hemp and paper for clothing, which you know can melt in rain, so be careful.

They have a show on the Sci Fi channel too.  You should see people's faces when they don't find any paranormal anything.  Some people get really mad.  Not just disappointed, like, wa my ghost is missing, but really angry.

I was called for jury duty and there was a hitch in the floors in the courthouse like you described and I didn't get what that was about.  They must always do stupid stuff to old buildings when they redo them.  You had to get off the elevator, around a corner, then down a few stairs.

Bella

Here's a couple of photos of the old courthouse. They took off the front portico with the beautiful columns, removed the lovely bell tower and stuck on a series of green and cream colored concrete boxes along the front and partway down either side. I couldn't find any pictures of the current front - probably because it's so damn ugly.

The big trees and the benches out in front are still there and main street looks almost the same today - the old buildings are mostly still there. The cars are a bit more modern, but that's about it.

BADGE OF HONOR

The Jerk On Bike rolled his eyes and tossed the waffle back over his shoulder--before it struck the ground, a stout, disconcertingly monkey-like dog sprang into the air and snatched it, and began to masticate it--literally--for the sound it made was like a homonculus squatting on the floor muttering "masticate masticate masticate".

I would guess it was to go with the artchetectual fad of whatever era they changed it in. Or the portion they changed was in such disrepair that it was easier to replace than restore. There are many reasons. I can suppy more possibles if you want.
One by one, we break the sheep from their Iron Bar Prisons and expand their imaginations, make them think for themselves. In turn, they break more from their prisons. Eventually, critical mass is reached. Our key word: Resolve. Evangelize with compassion and determination. And realize that there will be few in the beginning. We are hand picking our successors. They are the future of Discordianism. Let us guide our future with intelligence.

They made the last big changes in 1950. I just asked someone I know who's lived here forever and she said the old building was too small. They moved a few of the county offices to other buildings down the street and it was still crowded. So they decided to expand. She said there was a huge fight about what kind of addition to put up and the board of superisors finally decided to go with something modern.

So yeah, it was to go with the trend in the 50's, which over here meant flat roofs and boxy shapes. They used beautiful marble on the floors and stuff, but the two additions don't quite fit together all that well and we've had a few earthquakes since then, so the the floors are cracked now.
Anyway, the effect is really icky like going back and forth in time, because really there are four courthouses rolled into one on that site.

The sub-basement is the worst - it's part of the oldest original structure and you have to go down a winding stairway to get there. It's full of old crumbling record books and case files and I only went down there once and then refused to go again. It was too creepy even for me.
