News:

We've got artists, scientists, scholars, pranksters, publishers, songwriters, and political activists.  We've subjected Discordia to scrutiny, torn it apart, and put it back together. We've written songs about it, we've got a stack of essays, and, to refer back to your quote above, we criticize the hell out of each other.

Thread drift is inevitable, in many ways.  We tried explaining this to the MW tards, but they were, of course, incapable of understanding it.

Thread jacking is another matter.

Thread jacking is another matter.

So by denying the truth of thread drift, every thread ended up drifting towards arguments about thread drift?

Pretty much.  The ironies of that place never cease to amaze me.

Also, amusingly, I found out the other day that well known Stormfront members were advocating infiltrating the place to spread white supremacist propaganda.  Someone posted the links on the MW forum and they all went instantly into denial about being a target for racists.

QuoteI agree with Mr. Duke, there are millions of our people out there on message boards and yahoo groups who need to be reached. You can just as easily post a link to a National Vanguard News article or David Duke article as you can to CNN or FOX news.

I have been doing this myself, and you'd be surprized how many positive responses you get among the negative.

You don't want to be looked upon as a spammer or seem obviously bias right away, so when starting out on a new forum or group, perhaps join in on a conversation first, then give reference, in depth opinion, and more information as the conversation progresses. If you become a well known member, you have less chance of being moderated or having your posts deleted.

Some forums like "Whistle Stopper" for instance, are controlled by very left wing moderators, and believe me, liberal Bolshevists don't have "Opposing Views" sections, but in that situation you can private message those members who may take interest in our message.

Look for larger groups or big boards if you can

Below are both a list of good forums and groups to join , and also a list of good information sources to educate and give references to issues pertaining to our cause . Please add any more that you may know of.

Come on, this is NOT surprising.  The place if it wasn't headed there already, had all indications of this being so...

1.  Some do, some don't.  I personally have read little of Crowley for example, so sometimes peoples takes on him can be interesting.  Mostly, we're interested in new ideas it has to be said, though we may refer back to these ideas in helping us navigate new models.

2.  Believe me, if you had some of n00bs we did, you'd find this welcome entirely appropriate.  Sure, it can look harsh, initially, but then you look at places like the Discordian groups on Myspace and...well, you have to see them for yourselves, you'd think I was overstating the case otherwise.

However, that does mean this place is more open to actually discussing new ideas, since they wont get drowned in people going "fnord" 10,000 times, or talking crap about their pineal gland constantly.  In other words, the boring shit we already know and have all done to death at one point.  Going by first impressions, you seem an intelligent chape(ette?) however, so I can't see any problems really, and you can be certain to get a thinking and critical reception to anything you wish to talk about.

We tend to go for quality over quantity, though surprisingly, we have plenty of both.

Welcome to the forums.

So, hello.  Couple questions:

Are thinkers (not knowers) who actually still find Crowley and Robert Anton Wilson and myths/religions/metaphors interesting welcome here, or not?  Just wondering.

Also, why do most forums on the internet seem to try and scare away friendly people, in lieu of those who display the toughest backbone and most certainty of their own coolness (i.e., don't get scared off by arrogant standards)?

Just some thoughts for now... don't have time for any further reflection.  Time to go home from work. ^_^

Hi Daruko! Welcome aboard!

Yes, very! Lots of us dig RAW and Crowley. Others don't. Everyone speaks their mind (most of the time) Please don't think that AGREEING with anyone is a criteron for membership.

This is a diverse community with strong opinions on both ends of the spectrum and in axises perpendicular to that spectrum too.

There's a complicated answer to that question, but for now I'll say

again, not much time right now...

Much less intimidating responses than the "charter".  Seems like it might be worth lingering here awhile.  Thanks for the warm welcome.
