Unelected Co-president Elmo the Oligarch (UCEO) has already lasted over two (2) Scaramuccis.

"Elon Musk Stays Glued To Trump's Side At Mar-A-Lago Thanksgiving"

"The tech billionaire has reportedly been hunkering down at Trump's Florida estate ever since the election."

As per this article:

"Elon Musk continued to saddle up to Donald Trump over the holidays as he was seen at the president-elect's side during Thanksgiving celebration at Mar-a-Lago.

Footage shared by ABC News and CNN showed the tech billionaire seated beside Trump at a family table during a lavish dinner Thursday at the so-called Winter White House.

In one clip from the evening, the father of 12 and Republican politician were captured dancing to Trump's beloved Village People track, "Y.M.C.A.," while wife Melania Trump and son Barron Trump politely nodded their heads beside them."

I was in the checkout line at the supermarket this afternoon, but I neglected to look and see if the tabloids are covering this love story.

The Philadelphia Tribune is not on board with TSF's nomination for Secretary of Defense:

"Why Trump's Hegseth nomination for defense is a danger to the U.S. military"

As per this article:

"At a now-notorious 2017 Pentagon meeting, where Mattis tried to explain to Trump how alliances and trade agreements benefit the United States, Trump became so irate he called the generals "losers," "dopes" and "babies." More recently, Trump has suggested that retired Gen. Mark A. Milley, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, is a traitor who, in times past, might have deserved execution.

So now, rather than choosing nominees from the highest military echelons, Trump is opting for nominees who served in more-junior roles in the military: Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.), a retired Army National Guard colonel, as national security adviser; Fox News host Pete Hegseth, an Army National Guard major, as defense secretary; and former member of Congress Tulsi Gabbard, an Army Reserve lieutenant colonel (with a troubling affinity for Vladimir Putin and Bashar al-Assad), as director of national intelligence.

Trump seems to hope that these former field-grade officers will be more compliant than their more-senior predecessors — and in the case of Hegseth, Trump seems to be hoping that his nominee for defense secretary will purge the "woke" generals that he has come to loathe.

It is, in fact, Hegseth's animosity toward the current military leadership, combined with his rugged good looks and frequent Fox News appearances, that seem to have recommended him to Trump despite his lack of obvious qualifications to run one of the world's largest bureaucracies. The choice of Hegseth drew immediate criticism on those grounds, and the nominee ran into further trouble later in the week with reports emerging of sexual misconduct allegations against him. Hegseth denied wrongdoing, and given Trump's own record of sexual misconduct, it isn't clear that the president-elect would withdraw a nominee who shares his antipathy toward current Pentagon leadership."

Here's the link to this article:       Hegseth Nomination a Danger to the Military

It appears that if one is a member of the Republicult™, appears on TV often enough, and pledges allegiance to TSF, that's all the "qualifications" necessary for a cabinet position.

Oh, I almost forgot, those "reports emerging of sexual misconduct allegations" get a check mark in the "Plus Column" of the his "Official Republicult™ Fitness for Office Evaluation Form."

Well ... maybe this guy owns a really, really big, expensive yacht:

"Trump Picks Big Donor with Background in Finance and Little Experience with the Military for Navy Secretary"

As per this article:

"John Phelan is President-elect Donald Trump's pick for secretary of the Navy, the first service leadership position that the incoming administration has announced as it prepares to put its stamp on the military.

In a post to his social media site, Truth Social, Trump said that he is naming Phelan, a financier who appears to have no military experience or experience working on military policy and has never worked for a large defense contractor, to lead the Navy."

Here's the link to this article:      Big TSF Donor Buys Awarded Big Navy Job

Or, maybe this guy has booked a lot of cruises on some of those really. really, big cruise ships. I mean, hey, that kind of thing has got to count for something too!

This guy was originally sponsored by Eric "Gums" Trump for membership in the First Crime Family:

"Top Trump Aide Asked For Payments From Those Hoping For White House Jobs: Reports"

"Trump's own lawyers concluded Boris Epshteyn had asked at least two people for the monthly payments."

As per this article:

"A top adviser to President-elect Donald Trump allegedly tried to profit from his relationship with the new administration, asking potential appointees for large retainer fees in exchange for promoting them to get plum jobs, according to multiple reports on Monday.

An internal investigation by Trump's own attorneys concluded Boris Epshteyn — a longtime aide who coordinated Trump's criminal defenses in recent years — had asked at least two people for the monthly payments. One of those people was Scott Bessent, a billionaire hedge fund manager who was recently tapped to be the next treasury secretary."

Here's the link to this article:      Top TSF Aide Asked for "Finders Fees"

So, what's the problem here? This is mildly interesting, but I don't understand what the brouhaha is about. I mean, it's not like this guy is going to be charged with a crime. And, I assume TSF was always going to be given his percentage, as we've been told is the custom in those other, lesser crime families.

"Fact Check: RFK Jr. Says Heroin Helped Him Reach Top of His Class"

As per this article:

"Robert F. Kennedy Jr., President-elect Donald Trump's nominee for health secretary, made something of a habit of sharing unusual and outlandish stories from his personal life during the 2024 presidential run.

From claims about brain worms to the bear-cub controversy, Kennedy was the subject of, and admitted to, wild anecdotes that stunned the public.

His more solemn history of substance abuse is well documented and a topic that the would-be health secretary has shared in much detail. However, one claim about his past drug use caught the attention of social media this week, with Kennedy saying heroin helped him reach the top of his classes."

Here's the link to this article:      RFK Jr. Credits Heroin for Academic Success

I don't know about Boston, but weed, speed, and downers were the common street drugs in Philadelphia in his era. And, none of any of that stuff helped anyone I knew achieve much in the way of academic success. On the other hand, cocaine was still very rare, and one had to go to some pretty seedy places to even look for heroin. So, I assume people with lots of money and connections had a much easier time finding "Horse" in Boston.

The Resistance 2.0 is real, and some of it is coming from where it's least expected:

"Murkowski hints she'll be a leader in the 'resist Trump' movement"

As per this article:

"Sen. Lisa Murkowski was one of four Republicans who were hard no's on the appointment of Rep. Matt Gaetz as Attorney General. She didn't need an FBI report on him; she just said he was not a "serious candidate."

But in a walk-and-talk interview with a reporter, she has now indicated that she won't vote to confirm any of Trump's nominations unless they all get a thorough background check by the FBI."

Here's the link to this article:      Republican Senator Lisa Murkowski Will Help the Resistance 2.0

Senator Murkowski won her seat in 2010 as a write-in candidate. And, that, boys and girls, is no easy feat. So, TSF can do minimum damage to her political career.

Even though I keep an eye on them, as I'm not a member of the Republicult™, I never heard of this guy until he was nominated to be Secretary of Defense. But, the MSM knows who he is, as follows:

"To Confirm Hegseth at DOD Betrays Those Who Serve With Honor | Opinion"

As per this article:

"If Hegseth were an honorable man, would he have advocated for President-elect Donald Trump to override the longstanding and respected military justice system and pardon war criminals? Does anyone believe he will protect our men and women in uniform against Trump's inclinations to unethically use the military against fellow Americans? Trust is the currency behind effective leadership in our military. How can we trust this man to be honest? To serve for a higher cause than just mere loyalty to Trump? To have the backs of the millions of Americans entrusted with defending our nation? Based on his background, I have little faith that we can."

Here's the link to this article:      Yet Another Questionable Presidential Cabinet Nomination

As 'Merica just reelected the Reality TV President, I suppose I really shouldn't be surprised that TSF nominated a television presenter for a critical cabinet position.

Quote from: Brother Mythos on November 20, 2024, 07:17:55 PMThis post is off-topic. But, since I started this topic, and this post is kind of, sort of about Elmo the Oligarch, I gave myself permission to post it here.

Anyway, I saw my first Tesla Cybertruck on the road Tuesday evening. In the dark, I first thought is was a big, ugly, commercial refrigerator being towed on a trailer to the scrapyard. It was only when I got along side of it, in the passing lane, that I realized what it really was. Now, I thought the photographs of that thing were bad, but my Goddess Eris, that is one butt ugly contraption!

Apparently, there are those who are actually attracted to the design of Elmo the Oligarch's Tesla Cybertrucks. This is on Elmo's very own propaganda site:    Tesla Cybertrucks Being Mistaken for ... wait for It!

You can't prop up the next Joe Rogan overnight, but you can start to cultivate and develop the next Ben Shapiro, Candance Owens, Tim Pool, ect. The problem right now is that the biggest left-of-center voices online are people like Hasan and Vaush who openly trash Democrats and Democratic candidates; Republican online streamers, podcasters, and posters are basically in a cult that bring in followers that will blindly support, vote for, and donate to your candidates. They need this structure of their own to prevent right wingers from completely dominating the medium.

This may not be what Sophia the Altered had in mind when she wrote about "Creating and funding alternative media spaces online." But, the following article is from a liberal website that often gives me a good laugh:

"I, Shub-Niggurath, Have Chosen The Lesser Beings That Will Serve In My Presidential Cabinet"

"WHO WILL SERVE DURING MY REIGN OF DARKNESS???"

As per this article:

"Greetings, cowering hordes of human offal! Shub-Niggurath, the Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young, hears your lamentations over my ascent to the Oval Office. They please and will sustain me through the eons of blackness on which you are about to embark as I, Shub-Nggurath, begat by the Darkness, who in turn was begat by Azathoth, ruler of the Outer Gods and keeper of the primordial chaos, reign over you!

Greetings members of the press! Greetings, mortal swine! But I repeat myself! Ha ha ha!
Laugh, mortals! Laugh or be cast into the empty universe, into the cold darkness beyond darkness from which no light can escape and where you will wander for a thousand eternities seeking a respite from the horrors driving you mad with terror!

Or, alternately, I'll make you work for Punchbowl."

I think you get the idea. Here's the link to this article:    Shub-Niggurath Has Spoken Written

I believe this amplifies what Sophia the Altered has advocated:

"Opinion | Until there's a liberal media apparatus, the Democrats will live in Trump's America"

As per this article:

"It takes time for things to stick properly, so please bear with me while I say again that Kamala Harris did not lose the election because of things she said. She lost because of things Donald Trump said she said.

So Democratic Party critics are basing their criticism not on what Harris said but on what Trump said she said, as they are accepting as true the allegations of the president-elect against the vice president.

By focusing on things that Trump said she said, rather than on things she said, these critics are missing the real lesson from the 2024 election – that her policies were not the determining factor in her defeat. It was the ear-splitting volume of the accusations against her and the absence of equal and opposite accusations against him."

And, further along in this article:

"The volume of the rightwing media apparatus, especially when it's in sync with the Washington press corps, is so loud that it can feel like the ultimate arbiter of our political reality. As one CNN anchor put it this morning, this is Donald Trump's America. We're just living in it. Until there's a liberal media apparatus, one that can meet bad info with good info, the Democrats will continue living in Trump's America, too."

Here's the link to this article:        The Need For a a Liberal Media Apparatus

It's not going to be easy, but this is something that must be encouraged and supported.

November 25, 1915 - Einstein's Theory of General Relativity Was Published

Ten years after Albert Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity was published, he followed it up with his Theory of General Relativity.

Newer theories have been formulated in an attempt to better explain gravitation, but even after over a century, Einstein's theory is still the "gold standard" for predicting the effects of this universal phenomena.

Uh-oh, there's trouble in Paradise Motel-a-Lame-duck!

"'Huge fight': Warring factions inside Trump transition get into 'big blowup' at Mar-a-Lago"

As per this article:

"According to the Post, three different factions have formed — each with their own leaders and strategic goals. One of those camps is led by Trump's eldest son, Donald Jr., with Vice President-elect JD Vance on his side as well as "longtime MAGA warriors" like former Fox News prime-time host Tucker Carlson, Vance advisor Andy Surabian and ex-Trump White House official Cliff Sims.

Another faction is led by Trump White House chief of staff Susie Wiles, who also co-chaired Trump's 2024 campaign. Wiles' camp mostly includes her advisors and acolytes, like Trump campaign political director James Blair and deputy campaign officials Taylor Budowich and Robert Gabriel. And a third group consists of transition co-chair and Secretary of Education-designate Linda McMahon and alumni from the America First Policy Institute like Brooke Rollins (who was rumored as a finalist for chief of staff) and Keith Kellogg, who was former Vice President Mike Pence's national security advisor."

Here's the link to this article:      Warring Factions in TSF's Transition Team

I thinking the 'Merican Macho Man way to solve this problem is for each faction to challenge the others to a series duels. But, I'd be willing to settle for a simple circular firing squad.

At Least One Congressman in the Resistance 2.0 has a sense of humor:

"FEMA Chief Asked At Hearing Do You 'Control The Weather' Or 'Send Hurricanes' To Trump Areas"

As per this article:

"Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) asked FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell if she or her agency "controls the weather" or "sends hurricanes" to areas based on political considerations at a hearing this week.

Fired FEMA employee Marn'i Washington was dismissed for telling workers in Florida to skip Trump houses during the Hurricane Milton recovery effort — but Washington says she was following orders, and that her instruction was a temporary "avoidance and de-escalation" measure. During Hurricane Helen, relief work was delayed because of an "armed militia" hunting FEMA workers.

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee held a hearing this week on FEMA's response to hurricanes that focused mainly on the incident.

But when Rep. Krishnamoorthi's turn to question Administrator Criswell came around, he used part of his time to mock conspiracy theories that were spread by Republicans, including about "controlling the weather":

I remembered this one while musing about the Resistance 2.0:

Jefferson Airplane - Volunteers (with Lyric)

And, it's not lost on me that the "This generation" in the following lyrics quickly lost interest in the "got to revolution" when the Selective Service System (SSS) lost interest in them:

"One generation got old
One generation got soul
This generation got no destination to hold"

This kind of resistance is cyclical, and the "This generation" also got old really fast. I'm smiling as I think back on it all, and I'm not wasting my time mourning over inevitable change. There are more important things happening right now that need my attention.

Here's what the next midterm elections currently look like for the US Senate:

2026 United States Senate Elections

It's not too early to start planning to defend the Democratic held seats, and attempt to pick up some of the Republican held seats. Given the damage TSF and his merry menagerie are likely to do to the country, there should be opportunities to make some gains in the Senate.
