*Gives up and goes home*

Edit
QuoteIt's when there's a bunch of young delinquents making fun of Elisha, Elijah's successor and one of the greater prophets in the Old Testament.

Thats the one.  I love that story.

I like telling the story in the Bible of God using 2 cave bears to kill kids for laughing at a bald man.  I havent read it in a while, so I can't remember the reference  (that and I'd upset my girlfiend who is a guilty catholic) but I definetly remember that one.

Quote from: LMNOIn a related vein, I was poking around Live Journal, and some guy asked what I thought of his (bad) goth poetry (like there's any other kind), and in response I whipped this up off the top of my head (bad poetry alert!)

"Alone, I sit in the darkness,
My own head an echoing chamber of sorrow.
The cold metal parts my skin like a shadowy fin through icy water,
With Her words as the only sound, wailing dirge;
Mirroring my agony at this dismal existence."

Now I need a shower.

OMG teh emo!  "I feel so bad, boohoo my poor middle class existence, mum made me do my homework, time to slit my wrists....."AAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGH!!!!!

And Ive just made another copy! Nooooooooooo!!!!!

Or Kill Me / no good title.

I've had that problem with Moore too, you know he has good ideas but you have to tarnish yourself with the rest of them too, and so you end up looking abit stupid.  Its almost like there is a giant conspiracy to make sure Bush looks good by promoting these people as his attackers.

This is a story from the UK that has been brewing for a few days and has got me rather annoyed.  As you may know, our Home Office Minister David Blunkett has quit over an affair and subsequent abuse of position to get his lover's nanny a fast tracked visa to stay here.  WHY???  Quite frankly, this disgusts me, that he has gone because he has become, and I quote, "an embarassment" to our Government.

Never mind that he passed a criminal set of "laws" (the 2001 Terrorism Act, whereby I can be arrested and imprisoned without trial because I hold an Aussie passport).  Never mind that violent crime has risen by 12% over the last year alone, that the Police force have become glorified traffic wardens with too much paper work, that he passes more maligned directives than the Supreme Soviet (the ASBO is a good one if you wish to search for that) and he waits 2 years after 9/11 to increase the size of the Security Services.  Oh no, he had an affair and caried out a relatively minor abuse of power (chances were the nanny would get her visa anyway, it would just have taken longer) and became "embarassing" and so had to go.

If I met a politician who's only crime was an affair, I'd probably buy him a drink.  Interesting how this is meant to be the publics servant, and yet he goes over a privte indescretion (trust me, more was made of the affair than the visa).  Public politics sucks.  Blair only gets rid of people when they become embarassing, and for a lawyer like himself with nearly no shame to start wit, that takes a long time (normally at least 6 months after everyone else wants the sod gone).  Argh!

Emo poetry doesnt count as poetry.  Therefore I see no problem.

Reminded me of a Bruce Lee saying (and I am someone who does not particulary like Bruce Lee so feel honoured that I decided to quote him here, probably for the last time).

"Let yourself go with the disease, be with it, keep company with it-that is the way to be rid of it"- The Tao of Jeet Kune Do

Now I'm not sure as to what its real meaning is but I had always interpreted it in the sense of the second paragraph.  If there is a flaw built into the system itself, exploit it, drive it to its absolute limit. If the system is built on that flaw it tends to crash under the pressure of it all.

Or Kill Me / Philosophical Vomit (Nietchze!)

I miss my Nietzsche library I have at home.  It had most of the books and a few discussions on them.  He is one of the few philosophers I truly liked. Him and David Hume.

Or Kill Me / Hi, I may be boring.
December 14, 2004, 08:59:24 AM
Quote from: saint bI'm bored.
::consummates the next poster::

Thats Cthulhu's job :D Nice rant, kinda reminds me in part of Jerry Mander's book, 4 Arguments For the Elimination of Television.  The death of the mind, the boredom of life itself, thats so big you cant even see it from the inside so it doesnt even seem that boring.  You know, I havent actually watched a TV in over 4 months.  Or watched that many films.  If I wasnt so busy with the mountain of work Im often doing on my computer, I might actually have time to do something intereseting.  Damn work :evil:
