This needs to happen. Post availability here.

Apologies for a late reply, illness and family stuff has kept me busy lately. I have class the first two weeks in June, but after that I should be clear until early September.

I might as well get in line for a new name. It'll give me something new to read in my sig while I wait for that overdue Halloween Holiness.

Confess? I suppose I can, I'm temporarily at liberty from classes.

-I gave Richter a copy of Incubus (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0059311/?ref_=fn_al_tt_3) for his birthday.
-I had way too much fun chatting with my classmates this semester.
-I accidentally the last half glass of one of the bottles of my dad's birthday wine.

People wonder why I've switched to a kindle.

E-books are problematic from the preservation standpoint (seriously, do you know how much it costs to maintain that shit in quasi-perpetuity? With the suspension of disbelief that a power surge could never possibly occur? Physical copies as backup for the win). But it's true, I won't challenge you for defacing a book that has yet to age into a historical artifact.

For now.

I get physical copies of the books I think are important...  The kindle is for the stuff I read day to day... (And I have been known to pick up the physical copy AND an electronic copy...  Dresden Files leaps to mind.)

Anyway...  If the Good Reverend was overcome with that much Holy, there should be plenty sloshing around for the topic at hand, yes?

I agree. I love my Kindle, especially while commuting to school. But in the end, there's just nothing like having physical book where you can just open it up and read. No power switches, no buttons.

And all the new/old book-smell a person can get?

I'm actually rather ambivalent about the book smell issue. Some contemporary books smell borderline foul, and having had to process more than one item contaminated by cigar smoke/insects/mold/mildew/leaky barn/OHGODWHY? I don't revere the old book odor as some folks do. That being said, I understand and acknowledge the charm of the clean book scent.

And I too am looking forward to the Holy.

Because at this point, fear isn't really a viable option.

Great Scott...I'd forgotten all about this.

Please take the ensuing pause as evidence that I am madly trying to come up with something appropriate.

You forgot?

I noticed.

But the ensuing pause means my work here is done.

I'm old.  I forget all kinds of shit.

Hell, yesterday, I forgot about Dre.

To hijack the overused trope-Yeah, that's what she said.

I figure I win whether or not you choose to participate in this discussion.

Cut me some slack here, Holy Man. I've been baiting the bull for more than twenty-four hours. It took you until now? Honestly?

Please remain calm - put down the keys.

Now, I have no reason to believe you're going anywhere extraordinary, or up to anything bad.  ...Except for the menacing cant you have to carrying that book cradle.

You always assume the worst about me, and why? All because many synthetic book cradles are made of rigid materials that shatter on impact.

The pics were posted last year, and I'm too lazy to go looking for the thread.

And sadly, I never could quite pull off the constipated, "this-is-a-portrait" look that S.B. Anthony had in the source materials I consulted, though I did my best to fake it.

You remember how last year, you gave out assignments for Halloween costumes? And you promised HolinessĀ® to all those who fulfilled your demands?

It's been more than a year and a day.

Luna and I are still waiting for our reward. I went to class as Susan B. Anthony in heels (skirt several inches above ankle + visible wrists = Sexy Suffragette. Two birds with one stone) and Luna took pains to become Betty Boop.

For the record, I figure that by now any cop-outs relating to Richter's facial hair are moot. Yes, I remember that too. Shut up, it's part of the reason you keep me around.

If the two of us chose to demand interest on the late payment, how might you respond? I'm curious.

I'm technically an old-timer? That's just disturbing.

I-see-a-little-silhouetto-of-a-spag. Cramulus! Cramulus! Will you do the wango-tango?

(Ohgoddon'tletherhurtmedon'tletherkillme)

Kill you? Over that? Why should I bother?

To be honest, I'm disappointed. I expect more from you. You're subtler than this.

Stop letting them tell you otherwise, just rise up and be.

Try harder next time.

As to the rest of this thread- :lulz:

I assure you, despite it being ballet, it's worth the four and a half minutes.

Part of me really wants to take exception to that statement, but then I remember that I'm biased on this subject.

While the video really screamed "CIRCUS" at me, I completely respect the level of skill demonstrated by the performers. Even if the woman dancing Odette weighs less than a hundred pounds, a male lead had to support that at a single point on his body while she was in an extension. Then he walked around while she "only" had to keep her balance.

This type of performance probably isn't healthy and sure as heck isn't easy. Even if the video made me cringe for their collective joints, I was impressed.

Leln:  Not saying.  DO I LOOK STUPID?

But you still implied I'm on your shit list, so some manner of retaliation is required. So Roger, have I ever told you about Cutter numbers? If you ask nicely enough, I can make it so they're not just for library-types and emo kids. And for the record, the emo kids only latched onto the term because they thought it sounded cool. Please don't blame librarians for their juvenalia.
