QuoteLost fans have expressed their outrage at the three-hour premiere of the final season clashing with Barack Obama's State of the Union address.
Both will hit US TV screens on February 2, prompting fans across the pond to bombard social networking sites with their dismay at the news.
Twitter comments by fans of the show, starring Matthew Fox, have included "Leave my LOST alone, Skippy!" and "Come onnnn, Obama..pick another day".
The Facebook group Americans Against The State Of The Union On The Same Night As LOST says: "We would rather watch the premiere of LOST than the State of the Union address. President Obama should change the date and/or time of the State of the Union, not LOST.
"He already bumped A Charlie Brown Christmas. When will it end?"
The White House isn't saying when Obama will speak. An ABC spokesman wouldn't say whether the network would consider moving the premiere.
Clearly this is the final nail in the coffin of the Obama presidency.

GODDAMNIT NOT MY LOST!!!1
:argh!:
WHY OBAMA??? WHY NOW???
You know, I have nothing against Obama. Only because he is just another puppet in the scheme of things.
BUT Do Not Fuck With The New Episodes Of LOST.
Period.
HEH.
Yeah-I would rather watch a made up storyline intended to be fictional instead of some political pricks trying to sell me 'truth' that is actually a storyline.
And yes, I am being serious. Go ahead, I don't mind, poke fun.
Plus, I heard they (the political pricks) are not going to run their bullshit that night.
Maphdet-
Still aware the show is part of 'the scheme', as it is controlled by the same folks who control the fucking majority of agendas. Big Corporations.
So wait, do we still get to see new Lost? Or are they running the SOTU right the fuck over the top of it? If it's the former, I don't care. But if it's the latter. DIAFOBAMA!!! :argh!:

Not sure how accurate the link is. I haven't looked into it too much-but this is the second story I read stating the SOTU will not be on the same night.
the thing is, Lost sucks.
It's like a Stephen King story, only not written by Stephen King.
One deus ex machina after another, and no amount of character development can save it.
ETA: of course, the same thing could be said about the Obama administration.

when it comes to Obama, I think "highlights" is the wrong word.
:o
This country has collectively lost it's mind. We no longer live among a majority of clinically sane people.

heh. If you came here thinking that this place would be full of people who drank the pseudo-leftist kool-ade, well, you're in for a surprise.
Obama, like all Democrats, is a politician, and like all politicians, he is a snake-oil salesman who just wants to separate you from your money. The fact that he is particularly charming, an excellent orator, and a paragon of the current cultural zeitgeist just makes him that much more effective at being a slimeball.
that said, I'd love to have a beer with the guy. But I'm not voting for him again.
I won't vote for him again, but I'd throw a vote his way if it comes down to him or a Palin ticket. Which it will, because that would be the worst thing ever.

QuoteMeanwhile, Variety reports today that Disney execs are trying to figure out how to keep the Lost love alive after the show ends - with novelizations, comic books, games, re-cut Lost DVDs and even the "oft-rumored Lost amusement park attraction." It might even mean a a new TV or feature take on Lost, with a new cast. In other words, says Variety, Lost: The Next Generation.
wtf-bastards-I hate marketing. And as much as I love to go to disney for vacay, I hate disney corporate scum.
:horrormirth:
I like Lost, but I admit I watch it mainly for the nods the directors and scriptwriters give to other media, to show off.
As for Obama...I'm going to start a new thread in Aneristic Delusions, before I splooge my bile over this fine subforum.

aww.
noOOoo
in his defence it does suck, its merely a copy of the larger world around us,
using a mirror in an attempt to reflect society and tells its story of good vs evil YAWN
most of the concepts that fans think is great, usually are everyday knowledge around here,
social engineering and mythology being the easy ones to spot.
i think Cain once called it an
Introduction to human interaction
still pretty great tv show, if thats your thing,
and the fact one of the creators twitted (http://twitter.com/DamonLindelof/status/6774813217) THIS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxKtZmQgxrI&feature=related) makes him infallible
that said, i think this was merely blackmail in an attempt to get some of his questions answered HEHE
