Ask me anything.

Why?

Why?
Why did I vote? I'm an idiot who enjoys acts of futility.
Why did it make me nauseous? Because I already know the Tea Party/GOP looney tune LePage is going to be our next Governor. I know it's because the Democrats elected a limp fish as their nominee, and because she was so (politically) unattractive, the vote was split between her and the leading Independent candidate. (We actually had 3 Independents running this year).
So the guy is going to win but it will end up that 60%+ of the public will be voting against him.
Sounds like a recipe for win doesn't it?
I'm going after work, the line was insane and the place where I'm assigned to vote is also a food bank/homeless shelter and all the people were being turned out for the day when I went there this morning.
I'm sick over this whole thing as well. Every candidate we have is a pathetic excuse for a human being no matter what party they are with. UGH! :x

That's pretty damn shitty. And an excellent metaphor, though I suspect the location was not chosen for it's poetic irony.

It's a church, which voting in a church to me is just :|
I'm not upset that it's a homeless shelter or food bank or any of that, I just didn't want to be stuck in the crowd or be begged for money which is what happened last election.
Some facebook statuses from today:

QuoteI think this sums up the mood of the American people at the moment:
Me, while making phone calls for the GOP: 'Hello sir, I'm calling from the Connecticut Republican party, just reminding you to vote on Tuesday.'
Angry voter: 'What the **** does it matter, they're all crooks anyway! And you, you are worthless, just worthless!'
Me: ...'Ah, yes, well, thank you for your time, sir...'
Do you really think that Cutler doesn't have a chance to beat LePage?
I voted.
Then I pooped and farted.

Mailed mine. Fuck everyone's fucking poll happy nonsense. I haven't gotten so much shit since the last blood drive.
Do you suppose it is poetic that as soon as I put on my happy little "I Voted" sticker that it immediately fell to the floor? It felt very symbolic to me.

Um, seriously. in Oregon, the single largest factor for a successful political career is simply being willing to run for office. The second factor is being at least mostly coherent, followed by being reasonably physically clean and tolerable to be near.
Voting after work. There are, apparently, about 20 teabaggers challenging anyone who "looks liberal", in an effort to intimidate voters.
They can challenge me at the polling station itself, in front of the clerk. If they try it anywhere else, I'm going to do my best to get whomever it is to lay a hand on me in any way.

I was hoping for the same thing. I went to bed at 11 am, hoping, hoping, that when I woke up Cutler would still be on top. But, LePage now has an 8000 vote lead with 88% of precincts in. The remaining 12% are all rural areas that you know are going to be breaking for LePage. It was an honorable, late-race surge, but I think it was just a tad late to beat LePage. Cutler did well in the urban areas but ultimately it was the rural towns that decided this election.
