You're an awesome writer. You have great ideas and your prose executes those ideas with such eloquence that you make people cry . . . or vomit.
You may not make a living getting your shit out there, but at least you'll spread the HorrorMirth, and that counts for something too, right? RIGHT!
Clearly it's time to go to the next step:

Been published, several articles and a self published sci0fi book. What I've decided I need to do now is get an agent. Any good leads in that area? I'd found one good site but I don't know if it got bookmarked, if it did or I find it again I'll post it.
I published MSY1 through Kablam, and if there's ever an MSY2, I'll probably do the same thing. If I can ever get arsed to gather some of my text shit together, I'll probably just use Lulu.
If I were hunting for an agent, I would check out the people representing authors I want to write like and hit them up with a query. If nothing else they might have a suggestion. There's also Poets & Writers magazine (and the website, pw.org) which has all sorts of information. Oh yeah, I forgot that one.

Yeah, send me $7.50 + $2.00 S&H, and you can own your very own copy. I have 15 copies left out of the original 100, I think. I know I have at least 12.

Trust me, it isn't that easy. Most will not accept open submissions. You need a reputable agent to accept you first.

Ah, I wasn't talking submissions, I was talking query letter, asking them where they stood in their slush-pile-wading, etc. Although I think these days most agents have websites for that sort of thing. I know Jennifer Jackson does, she also has an LJ, etc.
But you're right, Charley. It ain't easy.

Incidentally, many props and much respect to Roger for his advice on that yesterday. Good thoughts.

But if you DON'T read it, you will fail to qualify for "Fantasy Hipster"...Because, let's face it, this book is as underground as you can get without coming out the other side.

He is. He lives in North Filth in Tucson, and he's a pretentious little prick.
He honestly believes this is the next Lord of the Rings, and that it's only a matter of time before his genius is discovered. In the meantime, he works at WalMart and lives in his parent's house, at age 30.
