The once-dignified portrait now resembles a crayon sketch of a very hairy monkey in an ill-fitting tunic, he says.
That's the kind of Jesus I could invite into my heart.
Also, is it just me or did senile old lady take what looks like a decidedly unremarkable portrait and made it look like a bona fide Picasso?
That quote made my day.

Similar, but not really the same. The old lady seemed to be coming from a place of wishing to genuinely do good work, simply without realizing it was well out of her depth. I'd be tempted to blame the current "anyone can do ANYthing!" mindset being taught, but she's sorta beyond that at her age. Unless that's always the way we've been.
Anyway, I still find it amusing and sad, but not as sad as some of the people I've seen moaning about it on FB or Tumblr. It's a painting, people. A painting of a zombie with a glowing head.
I don't think its sad at all. Its hilarious! And yeah my link isn't in the same ballpark for hilarity but still.

I LOVE the mindset of "Hey, I vandalized this thing, but news of my vandalism spread like wildfire and now the people who own the thing I vandalized are making money, and I want some".
Also, if it's not a restoration, but an original artwork that she deserves royalties for, it kind of weakens her case that she was "restoring" it.
She was restoring it in an original way.
