It gave me warm feelings inside when everyone went all rabid weasel in my defense down in the Spider thread.  Despite the fact that it went kind of over the top (or because of it?), I really appreciate everyone's support.  So thanks.

I think we were mostly just looking for a fight, that it happened to be in your Spiders thread was pure coincidence.

Yeah, I'm with EoC here.  I don't often jump on the "squish down the n00b" fest (those folks AREN'T n00bs, though, correct?) or "fuck the troll in the arse!" bandwagon, but when I get tired of every new or potentially exciting thread being bogged down, and a newer one in its place or some shit, fuck yeah I'll say something.  Even if I get singled out as a troublemaker for it. 

As in this case, though, Alphadude, I sincerely got mad that a friend's project was dissed.  And I'm sorry, yeah, they are so-called degreed experts after a fashion--but what was said was 169% out of fucking line.  Esp knowing your own credentials and whatnot.  The type of discussion that was perhaps MEANT to be proposed was not fucking proposed.  No matter how many spins on that came afterward.

Sorry, I'm devolving.  But I don't post as often as I'd like, and it galls me the ratio of noise I get these days when I DO in actuality fucking post.  Which I guess is actually a whole OTHER matter altogether.

But suffice it to say, I think you should ask for a split off, really.  I think that would help a lot.  But ymmv.  And kudos for the CLASS you showed in the wake of all that bullshit as well, Dude.  I was damned impressed at how engaging you were when people were shitting on your chest.

Well, rest assured I don't know many palindrones and I certainly can't make them up on the spot like I can puns. 

I also have to confess that I only know the oozy rat one because it's the name of a song a CD a buddy of mine recorded.  Which, btw, is a pretty kick-ass rock instrumental.  But you can't find it anywhere online so you'll just have to use your imagination.  Think lots of heavily distorted wah-wah guitar, trumpets, and ghost howlings.

You think you're dense? I was the one who suggested palindromes, and I didn't get it either. Until just now. because I just reread the thread. And it's been gnawing quietly away on my dumb bone all day too! I was even trying to cram it into the anagram wizard thingy, in chunks, because I'm such a committed unitasker!  (    )  And to think, I called this noble bastion of wit and intellect a "Boozy twat" in response!       What an artless wanker I am!  Of course, I take this back, unreservedly, and put it down to my being so "differently clevered" I plumb unthunk myself again.
