That's one of the happiest dogs I know (remarkably, like most pit bulls.) She can be a little TOO happy, though.

Yep.  If I'm not paying attention she can pull me off my feet.

She LOVES people, and wants to see EVERYTHING.  She's good... but if we had her with us, one of us couldn't do the things we went to SCA events to do because we had to watch the dog.  Some friends are happy to watch her while we go fight, but imposing sucks.

If Luna was a furry, she'd sex humans and scream "BEASTIALITY!" at the top of her lungs at inopportune times.

I like the Luna one. She is a good one.

My youngest is allergic to cats, so we have dogs.  They nice little creatures, but I miss having cats, no mistake.  That lil dog in the youtube video is hilarious--he's a Jack Russell, yeah?  They NEED to be trained to the nth degree just to keep all that asshattery energy in check.

We take our dogs camping, but they're so small that we have to watch out because they don't KNOW they are small and start shit all the time--with squirrels, coyotes, you name it.

For me, "camping" is often "SCA Events."

The dog did come with us, sometimes, but she's a handful.

Unfortunately, we got her as an adult, completely untrained.  We worked with her, and she's as friendly as you could want, but she takes one person's attention pretty much all the time, particularly because she's a pit bull.  (We trust HER, to a point, we don't trust some kid not to rush over to her, get knocked down because she wants to play, and have Mommy have a freakout because the mean pit bull attacked her kid.)

Gotcha. I totally agree in that case.

We also had the experience of, at one event, attempting to tie her and go to feast.

She got scared by another dog, and bolted.  Was gone for two weeks.  We got her back because she was wearing her tags and someone found her.

We've been a little paranoid, since.

I miss her.

Dogs are awesome.

however, crosses the line from impressive to just surreal and a little creepy.

One of those peed on my armor a few weeks back :crankey:, but he's a nice little bugger otherwise.

Anyone ever think about how Richter inhabits the same reality as you and just scream and scream and scream, but in a good way?   :lulz:

That's not camping, that's just a drunken slumber party in the mud.

Also, I can't remember the last time I heard about a cat saving someone's life by pulling them out of a burning building, or something similar. And I don't think it's because cats aren't capable of saving your ass, I just think they don't want to.

I completely agree, ECH. Cats are much too intelligent to save a human life.

QuoteSmart and devious, it took the common house cat decades to develop opposable thumbs at which point they enslaved all humanity to grow their catnip.

Actually, that's not very smart of them since they're gonna have to catch all of their own food now. Cats have the same kind of cleverness displayed by the people in the trailer park that always have new sneakers but can never afford to get their car fixed. Dogs are capable of taking the long view and involving strategy, not just tactics.
