GOP Bill Would Force IRS to Conduct Abortion Audits

Apparently, the GoP has decided that, in order to prevent women from using federal money to fund an abortion, the IRS should get to audit abortions.  Rape victims will get the ever so joyful experience of going over what happened with the police, THEN doing it again with an IRS agent.

Beats the hell out of me, it really does.

The way this is set up, if you do a pre-tax medical expense account, you can't even use THAT to pay for your abortion, because you received a tax benefit for withholding for the expense account (pennies, but still).

This is, by the way, the bill that kicked up the stink about them "redefining rape" to include only "forcible" rape.  They've said they'd remove the word "forcible," however, I see it's still in there.

Note, also, that there is no provision for the HEALTH of the woman involved, only her LIFE.

I find it reprehensible that they insist on referring to her as "the mother," even in the portion of the bill discussing when abortions ARE permitted.

This is also going to cost money.  Those IRS agents are going to need specific training before they can go asking questions related to abortion, rape, and incest.  That training ain't going to be cheap.
