Not trying to be rude, but really.....getting your feelings hurt because somebody says a class might be harder than you think seems pretty ridiculous to me. Lighten up? Use it as motivation to prove them wrong? Anything would be better than letting off hand "unsolicited" advice about something so trivial hurt your feelings.
