They actually BELIEVE that it reflects upon one's character which "candidate" one supports, that it is a valid basis for ridicule if someone voted for the monkey that lost instead of the monkey that won.  They suffer from the asinine delusion that it matters more than the World Series or the Superbowl.

In fact, it's nothing more than an expansion on pro-wrestling - whether the "good" guy or the "bad" guy wears the belt, the script is written by the same people, the paychecks come from the same office, and it's all run by the same folks who NEVER APPEAR ON CAMERA.  Even, or perhaps ESPECIALLY the SubGenius may be self-victimized by slavish adoption of the Conspiracy's bullshit.

All I know about politics I learned from Cain & Roy Rogers, and that is the following:

EVERY government is a criminal conspiracy to concentrate wealth and power in the hands of a few, and to suppress dissent among the rest.

Rich people get richer by getting poor people to kill each other in the name of a phony ideal or threat.
