  -No, you're all going to cram into an auditorium or some public space and listen to words, many of which you will only marginally understand.

At the end of the event you may experience slight feeling of self-satisfaction. Since you never have this feeling when not thinking/participating in hobbies, food, sex, or sleep, you will believe that you have made a difference in the world. Especially if it appears that others feel the same way.
